Awesome spot! A walk away from the Merrick Railroad, decent parking but it can get packed, but there is always street parking.

We came during lunch, I didn’t know what to expect. I need to say the description of a contemporary American grill & bar is accurate, we ordered 4 dishes.

Marinated Steak Tacos
Prime Burger
Mac and Cheese
Lobster Ravioli with Shrimp

We didn’t have any appetizers and I’m glad we didn’t, we shared all the dishes and it was more than enough food for all of us. Honestly I could have eaten more just because it was so delicious, but I didn’t, because I shouldn’t, will power!

I emphasise the portions are appropriate and the prices were decent and the best part was the taste, every dish was perfect, I hope the rest of the menu is just as good. The atmosphere is delicate, i love this style of restaurant, it might be considered old, but to me it’s classic and has a sophisticated charm.

Our waiter was very cool, a good guy, accometating and polite. Restrooms were clean and the food came out quickly. However I can’t speak how it will be for the dinner rush. When we came during lunch, it was not so busy, so maybe we came at the best time. I’ll probably return for dinner and update my review after I experience it. Looking forward to coming back!

Food was good, kind of bland. I guess we just expected more. I would probably skip the dessert platter and go for the brownie sundae because their brownie is delish! Kids loved this place for the pretzels they give out in the beginning and the cotton candy at the end. Oh and the Waitress was super nice.

The food here is out of this world scrumptious. Comfortable seating with a bar if you choose not to dine at a table. The waiters are very friendly and drinks are great. There is also seating on the outside if you choose to sit there when it’s nice out. They’ve got some of the best crab cakes and the baby back ribs are mouth watering. And to top it off, at the end of dinner you are served with a nice cotton candy. Love it .

We visited George Martin’s Grillfire on Saturday night, 2/17/18 at around 9pm. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived but the bar area was empty so we went to the bar to have a drink while we waited for our table. I asked the bartender why the bar was empty and he told me that it was busy all night and it just died down. He was probably right since we were probably the last table of the night to be seated, although I thought it was odd that a popular restaurant was almost empty by 9:30pm on a Saturday night.
Since it was getting late and we were hungry, we didn’t order any appetizers; we went straight for the meal. While we waited for our meal, we snacked on the house pretzels and mustard that they brought to the table. They were really good, and since we were starving, they hit the spot.
As an entree, Lahna ordered the steak and shrimp. The entree consists of skirt steak, coconut shrimp and mashed potatoes. Lahna enjoyed her dinner. I tried one of the shrimp and it seemed a little dry to me.
I ordered the “fancy skirt” which is the Grillfire marinated skirt steak topped with balsamic grilled onions and goat cheese over spinach served with a side of creamed spinach. Why they would serve a dish with spinach and creamed spinach was a mystery to me. The balsamic grilled onions seemed to be bitter from the balsamic vinegar and the whole dish was drizzled with even more balsamic glaze. I could barely taste the steak from all the balsamic.
The last time I went to Grillfire was about 5 years ago and I remember it being amazing. This time around, it seemed like another corporate restaurant trying to keep up with the trends and the ever-growing local foodie scene that is crushing the big named establishments. Our food wasn’t horrible but I can cook a better skirt steak on my grill. The service wasn’t horrible but I could tell our waitress wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I don’t know how involved George Martin is with this restaurant, but I know that George’s Martin’s Strip Steak in Great River blows away George Martin’s Grillfire.

The place has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and very clean. They serve alcoholic beverages and also have American style food like wings, burgers and steaks. Delicious and generous portions. Enjoyed my meal

The hostess was lovely and made sure to put us at a table that was a comfortable temperature for us. We got the price fixed dinners and they were very good and included an appetizer and dessert. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the very bland brussel sprouts. We arrived at about 4:30 so parking was easy and we had our choice of tables. The waitress was cheerful and attentive. We will return!

Food was okay. This place is too busy, needs more waiters/waitresses. The waitress never came back to ask if we were ok or needed something else. Getting the check took forever, paying took forever. And we had to ask for her to bring the check because she just never came back. Drinks and desserts were okay.
