Terrible. Worst Japanese food I ever had, so far.
The gyoza so bad. The seaweed side dish horrible. The eel i had also not as great as one I have once in a restaurant in Providence. Then my friend ordered stie fried Udon, ohhh dont even tell me about it. So weird taste.
I dont know about the sushi. We dont order them. Maybe they are better

Me and my group ended up here after attending a conference in Boston. It’s convenient to walk to from many hotels and is open to taking larger groups. Their menu selections were numerous and everyone enjoyed their meal of choice. The service was a little slow, but there didnt seem to be many servers working either. Would certainly return to this locale if I ended up in downtown Boston!

Both times I’ve been here have been an OK experience. The tempura is good, though the sushi is inexpensive for Boston but far from the best quality.

Great sushi! Very fresh and delicious. Very great food options, really could not be happier with the quality and taste of our appetizers and entrees. Service was so-so. We were only ones in the restaurant, and the waitress ghosted us.
Drinks were mediocre, tasted premixed. The dessert was awful. Got the fired ice cream. It was freezer burned and served rock frozen in the middle.

Sushi (California rolls, spicy tuna roll, & crazy roll) and pan-fried veggie gyoza were excellent. Good prices for amount of rolls/dumplings. Nice corner, 2-story location with lots of window seating. Service was good, friendly, and accommodating for special requests. We will likely eat here again.

The dishes were made lazily, and the design and interior felt outdated and uninviting. The ingredients were decent, but I definitely wouldn’t want to come back to this place.

Husband and I visiting Boston for the first time for NYE, stumbled upon Genki Ya and went for a quick bite. Waited maybe 1 minute before being sat. We shared the sashimi plate and each had miso soup. Miso soup was warming and delicious, the addition of the enoki mushrooms was fantastic. The sashimi was fabulous and fresh. Don’t skip the salmon or the scallops, melt in your mouth! We will highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Boston area

Food: The sushi here is pretty good, with a wide selection. There are sushi boats available, which are great for sharing with a large group.
Ambiance: This place is two stories, so there is plenty of seating. I’ve primarily gone here for group dinners, which is great if you work in the area and want to go out with coworkers.
Service: I have not had any issues. The wait time is average.

This was my second time visiting Boston and eating at Genki Ya just like last time the food was delicious. The sushi was fresh and tasty. I had the spicy tuna and California roll loved both. I got there right before closing and they were very accommodating and sweet with no issues. The avocado crab and cucumber salad is to die for as well must have. Meow meow

Sushi from here never disappoints, reasonable prices and the rolls are always great. Not exactly a fancy location, but a fun outing. Service is always great, we do birthdays here and staff is always super kind and accommodating for big groups
