Always had great experiences here, even on a weekly basis, until today. I will give them the benefit of doubt, but how do you run sushi restaurant with no green onions, and no sushi being produced for your conveyor belt? Everything had to be ordered thru app and the staff looked new. Hopefully things will change for the better.

This place used to have a lot of charm and fun about it. The food quality has gone downhill and prices have increased. Service is spotty. I put in orders for items based on the QR code for my seat and the server kept bringing them to the seat next to me. If there is an issue with the system or seat numbering, they need to get that sorted out. Luckily, the person next to me was my partner.

Been coming here for decades. Great sushi for the price and good quality.
Loved their menus and beef ramen became my recent favorite meal.
Las vegas roll, dynamite and scallops rolls are my go to.
They started to sell crepe green tea cake. It was soft and yummy.
Staff is great and attentive.

Went for the first time today. Food was great, lots of delicious desserts. Staff could use a refresher on food handling safety. When we arrived, two employees were looking at and touching the tires of a car(Honda crv perhaps, didn’t really look) outside the back of the store in the parking lot while wearing GLOVES. The same orange haired employee was refilling the ice machine a short time later while wearing gloves. Hopefully different ones. Then bussing dirty tables wearing, you guessed it, gloves. He was in the kitchen the rest of the time and God I hope he changed his gloves all those times. Older woman out in the dining area kitchen repeatedly EATING food while wearing gloves. Waited 15 minutes for our drinks while a young woman stood on her phone in the dining room kitchen the entire time. As I said, good food, and reasonable prices, but the way this restaurant is run and the employees behave definitely leaves much to be desired. Not sure if we’ll be back.

This was our first time eating here. The service was so poor. The servers just stood around talking to eachother and literally never checked on us. I had to get up to ask for water. The wasabi in packets, was yucky. The food was not great. Everything was room temperature. Not great for Sushi. The gyoza and spring rolls were cold. The presentation of food was not good. My daughter and l got sick later that night. I feel it was the warm, room temperature Sushi. I definitely won’t be going back. It’s a hard pass.

11/29/25 – I came to Genki Sushi in Renton today around 2 PM and had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. The girl at the front—who was both the host and our waitress—seemed extremely agitated the entire time. Not a single smile, no greeting, no warmth. It honestly felt like we were bothering her just by being there.
Both girls working the front should seriously be retrained. If you don’t want to serve customers, then don’t work in customer service. It was uncomfortable from start to finish.
The only good thing about this visit was the seared salmon sushi, which was actually pretty good. But everything else was overshadowed by the terrible service. I don’t even know why I left a tip when it was definitely not deserved.
I won’t be coming back.

If it’s not busy don’t go who knows how long they leave stuff circling around so the sushi is room temp. Even then I wouldn’t really recommend this place since most rolls were drowned in sesame seeds if not bland warm mayo based sauces. Not an exciting selection. The music was not only loud but not a fitting kind of ambiance. Service was super nice and things looked clean.

I love how I can drop in during lunch and the food is ready! Service is simple and fast. The premium rolls are on the smaller side, but I think we’re paying for convenience with the conveyor belt and all. I enjoyed the veggie rolls and was glad to see them.

We really like the food and come here often, and it’s still too cold most of the time, but we keep coming back because the food is tasty. Prices have gone up, but they’ve introduced a “budget tier” option with some cheaper choices. Ultimately this remains our favourite sushi place to go as a family.

For a conveyor belt place, the price is more expensive compared to Kura. However, the portions are noticeably bigger and they have a different selection/flavors. If you know what you want and will just be getting a few choice plates, it’s perfect. However, if you come to conveyor belt sushi places to get a taste of different rolls, the portions are too big and will fill you up almost immediately before you get to try out much. The seared salmon plates are average. The rolls plates have 4 pieces each and are almost half a regular roll at a regular sushi place, so $5.55 and $6.25 are not bad for that. I tried the samurai roll and garlic salmon; they’re very tasty but the “seared” wasn’t done well since the charred-ness of the roll got into flavor.
Don’t bother with the spam plates. There’s an Uwajimaya next door where you can get an entire spam musubi for $3.49 so it’s not worth it at all. The spam nigiri plates have a very thin slice of spam and barely any rice, and the spam roll has a giant thing of tamago and an edamame size piece of spam…unsure why it’s call spam roll when it looks more like tamago roll.
My only other complaint is that it doesn’t label what are actually in the rolls, so I will not be inviting my friends with food allergies here. There is nothing in the main pricing/information sheet that at least says “so and so roll topped with this and that”. I had to squint at the rolls as they go by and then just grab them once they come by again because I didn’t want to get ill.
4/5 very delicious and the price matches the amount of food per plate. It’s just not my thing because I go to conveyor belt places to taste different things. I usually average 8 plates but here I barely got to 4 before I was completely full, so I was a little sad at that.
