We enjoyed our lunch at Genesee Pub and BBQ. I had a bison burger with pepper jack cheese and hand-cut fries. The burger was delicious and the fries were freshly cooked. Additionally, this restaurant is in a very scenic area of Colorado. We would definitely come back if we were in the area again.

Had a bike breakdown on Lookout Mountain, while waiting for help, looked for somewhere to get a bite and found this place, got the bike back on the road, went here to check it out and we were blown away by the hospitality and atmosphere, our servers were on their game, our orders were taken and before we knew it, our food was in front of us. Of course everyone ordered something different and we all insisted that what we ordered had to be the best thing on the menu. This place is hands down one of the best hidden gems that I’ve experienced in my short stay in Colorado.

The back patio at this pub is an absolute gem. We started coming here before living in Genesee and are thrilled that it’s now our neighborhood joint. The owner is originally from Cape Cod, so the seafood is surprisingly good — and he’s usually on site, making the rounds. In general, this spot is much better than it needs to be, and it continues to surprise us with its consistency and quality.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to. We flew into Denver to slowly make our way to Aspen and happened to find this place through google maps. My husband and I said if we could pitch a tent and stay all night we would have. AMAZING food, 100/10 service, 100/10 vibes, please add this place on your list to visit when you’re in the area next. Our server David was the best and had amazing recommendations. Thanks for the great time Genesee Pub and BBQ!!! We will be back soon.

The burnt ends were super tasty ! Wings were okay. The owner hangs out and tries to converse with you. Which sounds cool in theory except when he throws food to your dog without asking (especially when your dog is on a very restrictive diet from constant diarrhea in the past). Also when he tells you (without any prompt) that “we bought this place for 400k and did $2m in sales last year. Not bad for a retirement job huh?!” Cool, bro. Gonna tell me about your yuge F350 next? Hated his vibe (wife agreed) but staff was very friendly and attentive. As long as you don’t have to deal with the owner, seems like a cool spot with a nice back patio where dogs are allowed.

We saw this place had great reviews online, so decided to try it and were pretty disappointed. We both ordered the smoked prime rib sandwich expecting it to have a lot of flavor. It was very bland, did not even taste smoked, food came out cold. Our server was great, she was very kind and apologetic. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is amazing, but the bartender and another server were yelling across the restaurant to communicate about a drink ticket not received which was very distracting and unprofessional. We paid roughly $60 for 2 entrees and 2 sides (it’s a La crate here), but the quality of the food was not worth the cost of our bill. If you’re looking for good BBQ in Golden area we recommend The Golden Mill for drinks and amazing smoked meat!

Fantastic in every way! Stopped here for lunch on our way to Vail, liked it so much we also stopped on our way back home. We like to hit local spots when traveling & try unique flavors. I’m not a huge bbq fan but loved their flavors: Green Monster, mac & cheese w/pulled pork, brisket, gumbo, pork belly (spicy, add sauce little by little to your taste). Portions are big (took mac leftovers to eat in hotel, still delish!) & prices are not. Enjoyed nice view sitting outside & inside (rained). Server Daniel was model of service – friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Owner stopped by to check on us & shared a quick story about his gumbo recipe. Less than 5 minutes off highway, easy on & off, well worth trying. Only negative is we might never get back that way since we live 3 states away

Great hole-in-the-wall! Shared the half-rack of baby back ribs w my dad and three small sides (the coleslaw, potato salad and beans) and we had one beer each which ended up being just over 40$; and we were STUFFED! Food was ready super fast and it was all incredible and tasted very fresh; and the ribs were not dry at all (some bbq places have things laying around all day and then just throw some sauce on top and heat it up before serving, but this definitely did not seem like the case here). The coleslaw and potato salad were awesome and the ribs were AMAZING!
