The atmosphere is a must see! I got the broiled fish plate and the portions here are very large. You definitely get your moneys worth here. The salad was very crispy fresh. The broiled fish was tasty and delicious and perfectly tender.

This is the seafood joint we were looking for!! Fresh fried seafood that comes out hot! Big servings for a honest price. The staff was nice and the seating was cute and decorated so fun! Has restrooms. The platter with clam strips was perfect to share. Fried scallops were amazing! Cold lobster roll was a surprise, wish it was hot but was still good! Only thing we didn’t really like was the chowder.

Do not let outside appearances fool you- it may look like a hole in the wall but it is sooo stinkin good! The lobster roll is reasonably priced (26) and is so delicious. My mom had the fish and chips platter and ordered a medium service and it was an extremely healthy serving as you can tell. We arrived at 1:30pm and customers kept pouring in while we were there despite it being after the lunch rush. This is a place to go when you are treating yourself and not counting calories and it’s complete worth it.

I ordered online which was very easy. Today was Good Friday so lines were expected but it was under 10 minutes. The workers were very pleasant. This was the first time I’ve bought anything from here. I bought Fish n Chips, Lobster roll(meat only) meal, 6 Fish cakes and a Stuffed Quahog(had know idea what it was ). Whomever made the fish cakes forgot to add the fish. They were just fried dough. None of the food had any type of seasonings and the melted butter that came with the Lobster Roll tasted as though they added water to make it go further. The fries were made to far in advance they were barely warm when I got to my truck. I didn’t return anything. I just don’t do that. The cost was $50.44. I probably won’t go back. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area I haven’t tried out yet.

I always loved Gene’s Seafood. For a very long time. Unfortunately they have downsized. Their scallops in the seafood platter were tiny. No longer the monsters they used to be. The shrimp also appeared to be medium size, they should be jumbo shrimp, or at the least, large. A few hours later I felt sick with the kind of taste in your mouth when you eat fried food when the oil hasn’t been changed in 6 months. Please fix your seafood platter! As for the clam cakes. Just rename them to clam juice BREAD. There isn’t a single piece of clam in ANY of the clam cakes we had. Clearly they are only using canned clam JUICE to add flavor.

So I drove by the place the first time because it really doesn’t stand out from the road. I am so glad that I was able to find it because when I did, it was a gem. The staff was very friendly and patient with me ( I was from out of town and didn’t understand what some of the local stuff was) I got a clam roll on the first trip and I couldn’t even come close to eating the whole things. The clams were large and so fresh and the prices were great. It was so great I went back a second time 2 days later! (Was only in town for a week). I picked up a lobster roll to go, and the serving size was so generous…what a great little place for locals and visitors alike! Prices a reasonable and food is outstanding.

Nice selection of seafood including good fish cakes. Was better under previous management for ex. they used to cook the clam cakes on demand rather than cooking a large batch which then won’t be as fresh or hot

Always my absolute favorite place to go for seafood. I grew up in mass and my family frequently visitors this place for their fish and chips. My dad makes me buy him some every time I come visit and I keep it fresh all the way back to PA just so he can enjoy his favorite fish! I have so many memories here with my grandparents and cousins. What a wonderful place to eat and it’s not too far from the bay so you can take your meal to go for a picnic too! Huge serving sizes and always friendly staff! Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!
