This place needs some managerial help. The women working behind the register are very scatter brain. I made a simple egg and cheese on a hard roll over the phone and she asked me to repeat it 3 times. When I got there I told her my name and she said she put it in as “Ciana”, which is fine…. the name doesnt really matter. She apologized maybe 8 times within a minute interaction. Very frazzled. I noticed my order was up, and I had to remind them to look at the order window and let me know if that was mine.

Vegetarian review: Gems bagels no longer serves fresh jalapenos cream cheese with their bagels. That being said – the bagels themselves area too bit small and has very little cream cheese for the price. This place is expensive.
That being said, the owners are genial who try as hard as possible to satisfy your expectations. I wish them success otherwise in their establishment.
The pot coffee was excellent and it is NOT bottomless like some other establishments – again for the high price it would have been nice however.
The side of potatoes are utter junk however – just chips of potato (slices) deep fried with no seasoning. They taste bad and feel bad too.
My peeve with the restaurant though – is the absolute lack of cleanliness in the seating area – see my pictures. It is wretched. The tables are grimy, the floors are disgusting and the bathroom doors are all nasty. Considering how beautiful the decor is – the lack of hygiene in the customer facing area is a disappointment and a tab bit unsettling.

Rip off. Different prices and different portions every time I go. $10 for a pork roll egg and cheese with almost no pork roll on it. Such a bummer. Gem’s used to be a staple.

This place is awesome. I come in hre about two mornings a week to sit down in there really nice dining area and eat something great off heir menu.. they have a mural painted on the side wall of a nice cute city street.. it’s so nice here. The service is great! The chefs know how to cook food here. Definitely a place you should stop an visit at!

Ordered Gem “burger” it’s just chopped meat, not an actual patty. It’s really weird too, I ordered from the 3 days ago and received a patty on the burger. Bagels themselves are okay, nothing you can’t find at any of the 500 other bagel places in the area. Do better.

Living in Virginia you just don’t get the kind of bagels you need to soothe your soul so whenever I travel North I always have to have one! But this Rocket was fabulous! I was starving and I needed it. If I lived close I would absolutely eat here at a minimum of once a week. And as a Realtor I have to say I just loved the decor! Thanks guys keep up the good work!

Food is good and they load up their sandwiches with top-notch ingredients. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The portions are generous, and everything feels freshly prepared. Great place for a quick lunch or casual bite — definitely coming back to try more from the menu!
