Let me start this review by saying that I do hate leaving bad reviews. When I visit a restaurant I want to eat something delicious otherwise I would’ve stayed home. Also, I have seen plenty of Kitchen Nightmares to know that the quality and condition of the food is the responsibility of the owners and not the servers. Our server was nice and friendly, just sad that the food was not up to par. For starters, the pupusas were filled, not integrated or mixed with the dough, so you end up having a separation of the dough with the filler. This means that the person making them thinks they can make pupusas, but they just don’t. They were oily, and one was actually undercooked. The curtido was old and needed more condiments because it didn’t have flavor no matter how much tomato sauce I put. I was really craving my yucca con chicharron. Having grown up in LA, I was raised eating Salvadorian food just to say that it is not my first rodeo. The yucca was fried so much that it was completely dried and hard to eat. The chicharron, inedible… they bought chicharrones, and once I ordered them, they most likely placed them in the microwave, which completely dried them and made them rubbery. I tried eating them, but my teeth started hurting. When I brought that to the servers’ attention, she came back saying that that’s how they are supposed to be I am sure they are supposed to be edible, right? She offered to bring me more meaty chicharrones, but at this point, I just wanted to leave. And why not do quality check on their food and actually serve better chicharrones since the beggining??? They saw that I left most of the plate, but they still had the courtesy (being sarcastic, of course)of charging me the $13 bucks for the plate that was left on the table. There comes a point when a restaurant needs to decide to take a loss or lose a customer but a lot did what this one did, they could care less if you come back they just want to charge you… such a shame because this place could be great if they only served good quality food. Just give the customers what you are charging. A true disappointment!!! We are paying the money, so just give us the good quality fresh food you promised. Otherwise, you will lose a lot more customers.

I never leave bad reviews but this place felt like a hangout for employees. My boyfriend and I arrived standing waiting to be seated and the lady with red hair didn’t greet us just looked at us and I had to seat our self and grab the menu. We waited for 10 minutes and no one came to us. We looked over and the lady with red hair was just on her phone by at the bar, A pigs pen would be more hygienic that this dump. Filled with lazy workers and a filthy floors and tables.

I have wanted to try Pupusas for so long. I heard they are so delicious. El Paraiso is a local San Salvadorian Restaurant that makes them along with other good food choices. They were as delicious as advertised from a friend. On Thursdays Pupusas are on special. A bonus today!

Omg I love beans. And this place had the gross beans I’ve ever had how gross taste burnt and running! Like water. The rice was real good. Enchiladas gross too.

It’s a hit or miss with service. But when they miss , it’s really bad. It’s like they double down on it out of spite. I would never dine in there. I just pick up all the time. Food is great though.

Waited an hour and a half for my order. I arrived immediately she charged me. She did not let me know if my order was ready or not so I took a seat. After waiting over 30 minutes in the lobby I decided to get up and ask if my order was ready yet because it was an hour and a half after I had called to place my order and sure enough it was ready not sure for how long but at least an apology would’ve Made it a little better. Not ordering from this place again. If I can give this restaurant zero stars, I would. They are not friendly and their service sucks.

I came around 2 PM, and the place was clean with only a few customers. This spot feels like a hidden gem, tucked away but worth finding. The customer service was excellent—they made my pupusas without cheese, just how I requested. The garnishes and salsa options were fresh and flavorful.
I ate so happily because everything was just perfect. If you’re vegan, they’ll accommodate your needs, which is a big plus. My mom also comes here with her friends, and they all love the pupusas too. There’s plenty of space for larger groups, making it a great spot for gatherings.
Overall, it’s a really nice place—and the freshly made pupusas are absolutely delicious!
