I was SO VERY EXCITED to try this place! I ordered $50 worth of food and picked 3 sides and a large pizza so I could get a feel for the food. The young woman on the phone said it would be delivered in 25-30 minutes (I live less than a mile away.) An hour later I got my food, which – I wouldn’t have minded however, everything was cold. The mushrooms soggy of course, as any fried food would be an hour after frying. The most disappointing, the tomato bread. I raved and raved about the tomato bread to my teenager as I always got from the Portage establishment and my son took one look, laughed and walked away! Because I paid for it (and tipped my driver) I tried it. It was terrible. It was dry, lacked flavor (!), and was cold. I peeled the cheese off and two tomatoes and put it on my pizza so as not to waste. I’m very disappointed. I hope in the future I am able to edit this review because this was a TERRIBLE first impression, especially for someone so looking forward to this place.

Although not a new pizza place, it is new to Griffith, and although downtown Griffith has quite a handful of pizza places to pick from, you’ll want to put Gelsosomo’s on your favorite list!
We tried them for the first time last night and I had no disappointments!! Pizza is my entire life, and i give this place nearly a 10 out of 10! Sauce is on the sweeter side, which I LOVE. The crust was crunchy and thin and perfect. The staff, although i think in the process of trying to hire on more people, were so so nice and polite. I felt like they were super accommodating and handling themselves well for a busy, hectic first week open. We will definitely be frequenting this new pizza place in our neighborhood. I recommend!!

Our first time experience from here was just eh. Ordered from their online menu, I called and ordered delivery. Two large pizzas, no problem. Beef sandwich with fries fine. I went to order jalapeno poppers and was told they don’t have those, ok no biggie, I said we’ll take an order of bacon Mac and cheese bites, nope they don’t have those either, Oooook, fried zucchini, nope sorry our online menu was not accurate so they didn’t have quite a few items. I said how bout fried mushrooms, and fried pickle chips, yes both of those were available so we ordered those. Wait time hour and 15 minutes no biggie on a Wednesday. But we waited over an hour and a half. The pizza was okay, the beef sandwich was good, The fried mushrooms and fried pickles were cold, the breading on the mushrooms was super dry and falling off as soon as you picked one up. We will probably not order those two items again.
I would however like to try dine in, since delivery is usually a different type of experience.

This was my first time going out to dinner after back surgery, and I had a free pizza coupon for the crown point location, not thinking anything about it.
I ordered my food ate, and when it came time to pay, I showed my coupon just to find out that they aren’t affiliated with the crown point location! I was a tad embarrassed because I did not realize that on the email, it said crown point location only!! I did not have an issue at all paying since it was my fault for not double-checking the email. The manager insisted on honoring the coupon, to which I refused, and he kept insisting that it wasn’t a problem at all, so we took the free pizza! I do not recall the manager or our servers name, but they were awesome and made my first time out from surgery a great one. Their kindness and patience were impeccable. I will definitely be back for their all you can eat!

I’m highly upset . My family orders from here often and I don’t know if they were busy or not but we are vegan and I order two large vegan pizzas and a House Salad with balsamic vinaigrette and honey mustard vinaigrette. Well not paying close attention my husband took a bite out of his “house salad” only to be greeted with a mouth full of PORK non vegan blue cheese dressing. They messed up our order and gave us a club salad with blue cheese dressing something far from what I ordered. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten in contact with anyone to see if they can fix this issue. I’m disappointed because this was literally my family’s go to on Sundays.
Update:!!!!! They fixed everything! I called they apologized and they gave my family the next meal free. They understood my frustration and respectfully fixed it. For this I will forever patronize them. They have my family’s support no matter what.

Great experience & pizza was amazing! First time trying Chicken Alfredo pizza. I definitely will try it again. $6 Martini’s on Tues & select appetizers 1/2 price. Oscar was our server & he made our day! We had so much fun joking around with him. We will definitely be back! Oscar thank you for a great first time experience!
