This food felt spiritual!! Me and my friend tried it on a whim while visiting our friend in Providence, and what happy accident. We go to school in Massachusetts, so it’s safe to say we haven’t had GOOD soul food in a minute—Geegee’s was an incredible reminder. We ordered two plates to share amongst us: the Lemon pepper wing plate with collard greens, mac, and it came with corn bread; and a catfish, jumbo shrimp plate with potato salad. When I say everything was excellent, everything was excellent. We tried the mac first (as that’s where people tend to go wrong) and were PLEASANTLY surprised at how delicious it was—especially for being made so quickly in comparison to homemade mac. The seasoning on the meats were exceptional, and the catfish especially was so juicy (it was also my first time trying catfish). Altogether, this was truly better than some DC soul food restaurants I’ve tried, so to think that I can have food this good up North is incredible. It is worth the price in my strong opinion. Wishing the owners & family nothing but success—I WILL be coming back!!!

Windows was absolutely FILTHY!!
I drove there last month, it was suppose to be open but it was closed,. We waited there for 1 hr. nobody Ever showed up. We really couldn’t see inside because the windows were so Filthy.
I’m personally wondering if the windows was that dirty, the kitchen must be dirty as well, my personal opinion! Next time I will come alone just to see how the food really taste,. I bet, nothing matches the photos they show on social media?!

I can’t even begin with this place seriously. The young lady ( cashier) took my wife’s and I order and was completely wonderful and informative with the foods and specials. The Kool-Aid made wonderfully, chicken, seasoned to perfection. I also had a great opportunity to meet and speak with the cook. Hands down this place has my vote of great people and great food. The price for the quality of food in my opinion is worth it.

Ordered a pork chop dinner and BLT sandwich for take out. Got a call back 10 mins after the order was placed (ready time was suppose to be 15 mins so I was already driving there) with they didn’t have any pork chops ok not pleased I asked for a smash burger instead and asked if I could get fries comped for the inconvenience… “No my mom is the owner and would never allow it.” Frustrated more I said what ever I’ll take just the smash burger and blt. Ok. Then get a call 8 mins after from the owner (mom) that they don’t have burgers or blt items. No appologies or anything. how do you not have most of your menu items? For being a southern place definitely no hospitality at all. Will not recommend or give another chance. Please do better

I had their food at a catered event at Brown University. An 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Gee Gee’s food was phenomenal, especially ribs, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. I rarely review on Google, but I felt compelled to do so today.

Was looking forward to visiting this place for some time!
So let me start with my eyes. the place was clean neat very pleasant. There was one person behind a counter helping a gentleman who was paying. So we took a seat at the counter and waited to be waited on, the young lady at register says “can I help you” being that it was about 20 feet away I assumed she would walk over to us, not what happened so I got up and went to her and ordered my food! The wait was roughly 20 minutes or so, during this time there was a tv on the wall playing music videos. good thing I wasn’t with any children because the songs selected
all of them had very bad language!!! I mean, if I were at a club or hanging wit the fellas it would hve been koo but not for any restaurant, my opinion.. also there was a door that closed the kitchen of from where we were every time it opend raggaetone was playing very loudly from kitchen
Ok now onto my food, it’s hard because maybe it was the wrong time of evening, everyone could hve been tired from a rush, lack of employees no matter the food was bad!
I’m really sorry but this review is in hopes of someone seeing it can make things better.. I can’t possibly know what it takes to run a restaurant and I don’t want to beat down this place
I’d love to try it at different time of the day.
There are so few of our restaurants out there. please please someone go and post your good views, I went on a Saturday night 7pm.

As a South Carolina native I was overjoyed to see this place and they didn’t disappoint! The prices make sense for a small business and the food was 10/10 delicious. The soul dust on the wings?!? The food was really delicious! The chicken was crisp and flavorful, the Mac and Cheese was scrumptious, the collard greens were savory and the cornbread was fluffy. The sides complimented the chicken well. My only issue is that the one side chicken plate (small) was $10 while the two side chicken plate (large) was $18. I understand inflation but that seems like it’s too steep. $10 seems like a great value meal while $18 seems like it’s overpriced. Just my two cents.
