My husband and I visited Bar Harbor after exploring Acadia National Park, and even though it was already past the busy season, the town still had such a cozy, welcoming charm. Geddy’s was absolutely packed when we arrived, but the staff were so friendly and efficient that we didn’t mind waiting a bit — it just added to the lively atmosphere.

We ordered a full lobster (our first time in Maine, so we had to!) and the seafood pie, and both were incredible — so fresh and full of flavor. I also tried an Irish coffee, which was delicious, though a bit strong for my taste — but that’s just personal preference! Prices weren’t cheap, but the quality, service, and experience made it totally worth it.

Overall, Geddy’s was a highlight of our trip — warm, busy, full of good food and friendly faces. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bar Harbor!

A fun yet homy eatery in Bar Harbor that serves you the local delicacies prepared with the utmost love.

A definite must order is the steamed lobster — it is so juicy but still melts from the shell. The buttery sauce complement’s the lobster’s natural sweetness and makes each bite heavenly.

The clam chowder is also a recommended order since it is a balanced appatiser that whets the appetite.

The star of our meal though, was the blueberry pie. The cream is thick but not cloying and the additional ice cream mellows the tart-sweet richness of the blueberry compote. Paradise.

Overall, a decent place to eat. It’s a touristy place more than anything. My take:

– Food: average to slightly above average. We had the fried calamari and Brussell sprouts which were both decent. Neither were great. We also had the tuna poke which was very good. We also had a blueberry infused beer which was good.

– Service: Was excellent. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. No pressure. No issues.

– The place itself: Fun, not too noisy. It appears to be a great place to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and socialize. We had no problems talking or being overwhelmed by noise.

I’d recommend it but don’t expect to be wowed by the food.

We loved Geddy’s for the food and the fun vibes! The menu has so many taste tempting offerings it’s hard to decide. I had the fish and chips which were outstanding! The batter was light and very crispy with delicious seasonings. My wife had the grilled haddock with Jasmine rice and grilled vegetables (green beans and carrots) which were flavorfully sautéed and crispy. Our server, Hannah was very gracious and professional and we never felt neglected. There is also a fun merch store downstairs where you can find any kind of items you might want for yourself or as gifts to take home. We would go back if we were in town longer!

For fun and great food this is where you go in Bar Harbor! Tourist town restaurants can be overpriced and low quality; but not Geddy’s. The staff was friendly, attentive and the signature chowder and lobster dinner with blueberry pie doesn’t disappoint. Even the corn on the cob was fresh, sweet and yummy. Thanks for taking the time to serve a great meal at a fair price.

We came on a Sunday night around 5 PM and they said all the tables were for reservations only but we could sit at the bar. The bar filled up quick and then there was a line out the door when we left around six so definitely make a reservation.Athena gave us excellent service! The cocktails were great and the lobster stew had plenty of lobster in it with a nice sherry flavor! The lobster mini bake was a perfect way to try the lobster roll, the clam chowder plus have a little blueberry tart. The atmosphere was nice and we would definitely try this place again. If we were in the area, we preferred it over Stewmans

I would give 10 stars if I could. Phenomenal food, atmosphere, and service! Abby our server was perfect. We got the geddy lobster bake, mussels, and then another lobster. My husband got the blueberry beer and bar harbor brown ale and he said they were great. Would 100% come back. We also got the blueberry pie. Yum!

First of all I would like to apologize to Arthur for the 3 star review given, that was an accident. I’m not sure how that happened, but I’m going to have to blame it on the amazing food that I ordered at Geddy’s that gave me a food buzz thus causing the mishap. Anyway, I am so glad we chose Geddy’s as the go to place to celebrate my best-friends 50th birthday. We ordered the Geddy’s lobster stew, the steamer clams, oysters, and for the main entrée was the Cap’n Geddy’s Lobster Bake. I loved the homemade blueberry pie. Everything was perfect.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting gorgeous Bar Harbor knows Geddy’s. The spot honestly doesn’t need another 5-star review, but I had to share our experience because it was a total “watershed moment” for my wife and me.
We had a similar culinary “plot twist” a few years ago (also in Maine) with oysters. We tried baked oysters for the first time and realized that, no, oysters don’t only have to be consumed raw to be world-class.
This time, it happened with the lobster. As Italians, we naturally have a bit of cultural resistance to classifying a sandwich as a main course—and even more resistance to the idea of putting a delicacy like lobster inside a bun.

But guys… the Geddy’s Maine Lobster Roll is a game-changer.

It will twist everything you believed about seafood before you even finish the first bite. It is absolutely incredible. If you think you know lobster, try this and think again.

One piece of advice: If you are planning to be in Bar Harbor, plan a visit to Geddy’s—but make a reservation in advance. If you can, book it a couple of weeks ahead. If you don’t, be prepared to wait at least an hour (or more) to get a seat! It’s worth the wait, but better to be prepared.

So good we went twice in one day. Fish and chips were excellent, the lobster bake with corn and claw chowder were fantastic. The restaurant is extremely dietary friendly with great gluten free options. The unique take on oysters with blueberry minuet and lime cilantro minuet. And finally the blueberry pie. Oh, that blueberry pie. It was all a delight. Highly recommend.
