Another amazing experience at Gazette last night. We had the French onion soup, the Chateaubriand cooked medium (absolutely perfect), and the legendary Haaaaaammmmm for dessert — everything was outstanding, as always.

The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and professional. I’ve visited this restaurant several times now, and the manager already recognizes me, which makes it feel like my VIP place. That personal touch really means a lot.

Consistently great food, great service, and a place I’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommended!

We occasionally go to this restaurant for their Wednesday mussels, but this time we visited to enjoy a celebratory dessert after getting engaged. The staff who served us were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience very special.

We decided to try the galette based on their recommendation, and it was absolutely the best galette I’ve ever had. perfectly crispy, absolutely delicious. It even came with a little angel figure, which was such a sweet touch.

We truly appreciate the staff for making our night so special and memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

We’ve visited many times over the years, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. This place delivers exactly what you’d expect from a true French brasserie (speaking as a French native): delicious, affordable food and a warm, knowledgeable staff. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Oyster Tuesday by the River at Gazette Battersea
Discovered a fantastic riverside treat at Gazette Battersea — every Tuesday they serve up fresh oysters for just £2 each, right on the Thames! Set against the beautiful backdrop of houseboats and city views, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.

Staff in nautical stripes, rustic barrel tables, and a sunny terrace make it feel like a mini escape to the French Riviera. Perfect spot for a casual afternoon bite or a cheeky seafood fix during a walk along the river.

Fresh oysters, friendly service, and unbeatable views — a hidden gem worth visiting if you’re in Battersea on a Tuesday.

A massive thank you to Francois (Manager) and his team at La Gazette in Battersea for a truly perfect end of the year dining experience. What a perfect way to see out the old and welcome the new.

We’ve been customers of La Gazette for at least 10 years – more often than not for their lunchtime specials (which are not only excellent VFM, but also excellent quality – with customer service always on point). However, having been told by word-of-mouth that for NYE the restaurant were offering a menu designed specifically for the occasion we decided to give it a go. Turns out it was the best decision ever!

I can only say that the choice and quality of the food was simply exceptional. Not only were we provided with a 6 course set menu for £79 for NYE, there was also an option for vegetarians/vegans AND we could, if we so wished, jump from one set menu to another as we had a pescatarian in our party.

Each and every course just went from strength to strength, with the service by Francois and his team simply second to none. From the Scallop Amuse-bouche to the Foie Gras to the Artichoke Heart to the Black Cod, etc., etc…..all was simply delicious.

If you are looking for an authentic, genuine and extraodinarily good VFM food experience – set menu or not set menu! – then, IMHO, you need look no further.

A tucked away gem. My favourite local restaurant. Have been a few times and will certainly be returning. Oyster night and mussels night are very affordable and delicious every time.

We’re local and have been going to Gazette in Battersea for over a decade. It’s our go to place when we need a quick meal or a brunch, but also if we want to have a special meal and treat ourselves too. The staff are lovely, really welcoming and accommodating. The food is very good and sensibly priced, especially considering this is almost central London. They have many themed food events on throughout the year and regularly adjust and improve the menu. The atmosphere is very relaxed and also has that quirky French bistro feel. We are very lucky to have them almost on our doorstep. Would recommend to anyone who likes French cuisine. On a number of occasions I have bought French friends there, and they have been very pleasantly surprised by how good it is, which I think is a great marker for how good it is.

If you’re looking for a great beef tartare, done the old skool way, you’ll be in luck at Gazette. Although it’s slightly hidden away behind Chancery Lane, it’s a nice spot to get in the French vibe. The tartare is prepared in front of you so it’s served wonderfully fresh and each bite is packed with juicy flavour. The duck and bavette were juicy and tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The service took a little waving occasionally, probably because they were very busy but they were friendly and attentive when we had their attention. It’s a nice place.

Truly and exotic French restaurant in south west London. Never know there is a beautiful place over here. Very classic and has lots of antique collection display in the restaurant. We were sat at a corner quiet area where we had our own time. Ordered a few dishes to share and were satisfied with the dishes. Tartare were divine! I wanted to get a dessert to end the day but had to wait over 10 minutes for the waitress to notice and take our order. Didn’t go for dessert at the end. Overall, it is a nice French restaurant to give it a try!
