Very busy restaurant. 2 floors for diners. The front of house staff were abit curt, no welcome or smiles.
We were sat in a nice spacious booth, which was comfortable and keep us fairly private from other diners.
The waiter was polite and friendly.
Nice food and drinks menu.
Very quick service from ordering to table on both courses.
Great steaks and lovely side dishes.
Great restaurant for group gatherings.

What a great place! The interior is very stylish, and the location couldn’t be more convenient—right outside Covent Garden tube station, which makes it super easy to reach.
We went for lunch around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was completely full, so advance booking is definitely a must. We had booked the set lunch menu and absolutely loved the vibe—lively, elegant, and perfect for a relaxed lunch.
We ordered the Breaded aubergine with mozzarella, Grilled chicken paillard, and mushrooms on toast. The food was decent overall, though the aubergine was a little disappointing as it was fried rather than baked, which wasn’t what we expected. That said, everything else was fine.
Overall, we really enjoyed dining here. Great atmosphere, excellent location, and a lovely place to spend a leisurely lunch in Covent Garden.

We had a pleasant dinner in a relaxed and beautiful restaurant. Food came fast and service was good. Personally I think that the food was well prepared but unfortunately a bit bland and we asked for salt since everything was under salted. But the meat and the wine was great.

This is the first time I have visited this restaurant for my teams Christmas meal. Our group contained a bunch of carnivores, herbivores and some pescatarians. Everyone was very impressed with quality and quantity of the dishes the kitchen served. The restaurant was decorated with an awesome Christmas theme. The food was very tasty and everyone was very impressed with it’s quality and quantity. The service was quick and focused and the atmosphere was awesome.

Loved it and would recommend without hesitation.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment to celebrate my 18th wedding anniversary with my wife, and I can confirm that the experience was truly exceptional. The food was of excellent quality and the staff were very friendly, which made for a very positive experience. We were delighted to be surprised with a complimentary dessert as an anniversary gift, which was the perfect way to end the evening.

We had a truly delightful dining experience, lovely Christmas atmosphere and attentive service. The ambiance is perfect for special occasions. What made our anniversary dinner particularly memorable was the thoughtful gesture of a complimentary cake, a sweet touch that elevated the entire evening. The food was exceptional, making it a standout choice for celebrations.

We had a wonderful dinner at El Gaucho in Coberdán. It’s an excellent Argentinian restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly service. We tried the pre-theatre menu, which at just $19.95 for three courses offers incredible value.
For starters, we had the prawn chicharrón and the three-cheese empanada — both were delicious and full of flavour. For the main course, we went for the rump steak with chips, perfectly cooked and really tender. To finish, we shared the dulce de leche pancake, which was absolutely fantastic — the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
The total came to $51.90 for the two of us, and we left very happy. Excellent value, generous portions, and top-quality food. Highly recommended!

We chose Gaucho Covent Garden to celebrate our anniversary using a Buyagift voucher for a premium 3-course dinner with champagne, and the experience was honestly shocking. We even paid extra to upgrade, expecting something special.

On arrival we clearly explained we had the voucher menu, yet we were also handed the normal menu. Only later did we realise the “special” Buyagift menu we were given was priced at £109 — for a meal that would have cost around £50 directly in the restaurant. It felt like a complete rip-off.

We asked to speak to the general manager, Christina. While she apologised, she refused to help resolve the situation, saying the voucher had already been redeemed and there was nothing she could do. When we asked her to contact Buyagift, she declined and said it was Friday so no one would answer. That response was extremely dismissive, especially given this was our anniversary celebration.

To make matters worse, the service charge was calculated on the inflated £109 amount rather than the actual value of the meal we were served. We left feeling overcharged, misled and completely let down. What should have been a special evening turned into a very disappointing and upsetting experience. I would not recommend.

Went here for a post Christmas dinner yesterday, was a bit disappointed to see the festive menu had ended and there wasn’t a new years one or another alternative to the normal menu. I had the strawberry negroni, nice strong and sweet, so good I ordered it twice. The cheese and truffle croquettes were flavourless and watery tasting more like mozzarella, disappointing. The gaucho steak pie was delicious, not a fan of the red wine jus but it worked, mash was thick and smooth which I liked but my sister did not. Mushrooms and broccoli were okay very mild flavours. Same with the Latin marinated fillet. I asked for mine well done and it was perfect but again nothing was really flavourful, the strongest thing was the drink. However the lemon meringue tart was perfect, sweet fresh light, perfect ripe strawberries. I would go back for this alone. Beautiful atmosphere with the decorations upstairs and the music.
Overall a very average meal, I’d visit again for lunch and try something different but nothing special.

The service is amazing, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is just amazing from starters to desert. I would recommend the cheese ampanadas and the chocolate brownie. Thank you for being brilliant gauchos and hopefully next time you’d let me see the steak fillets before hand
