Social Profile:

Gatsby’s Pizza & Pub was established in 1973 by Bill Roscoe. He purchased interior pieces on 55th & Halsted in Chicago and brought that old town look to Arlington Heights. It has been a neighborhood “cheers” bar ever since. In 1991 the current owners George Callas and John Katsiambis bought Gatsby’s. They gave it a fresh remodel all while keeping the classic look and feel of the place. George and John have done many face lifts to the interior and exterior of the building over the years to evolve with the changing community.

Convivial, long-standing watering hole with pizza & other pub grub, plus lots of TVs showing sports.

“If you want to understand the heart of Gatsby’s Pizza & Pub, you have to talk about George. He’s the owner and a local legend who is there every single day making his soup from scratch. It is excellent—truly the best in the Northwest Corridor. As an architect of high-end marketing, I recognize when someone puts real integrity into their craft. George’s daily soup is a moment of ‘Godnews’ for the community; it’s consistent, fluent, and neighbor-proof. You don’t find this kind of old-school dedication just anywhere. If George is in the kitchen, you know you’re getting the best. 100% recommended.”

It’s a sports bar with tons of TVs. Went to watch some of the NFL playoffs and grab some dinner. Gyros on a pita was a special that say, it was tasty, meat had a texture that was dry. Tuna melt was served on marbled rye toast, and was good. Fries are shoestring style, so lots to dip in extra sauce . Order a side of Chipotle mayo for the fries, the extra charge is worth it!

At first everything was fine. Interesting place. there are a few downsides worth noting that will keep us from returning any time soon. We ordered wings, which turned out to be without a crust, the skin was rubbery, we had to remove it. Draft beer is terrible, it’s just diluted water, for which we were charged money. Shots are only half of the impression. To have clients and earn money, you need to be honest ☺️

Do not be fooled by the photo! The wings look great but they were VERY rubbery and the taste was bland. This place is definitely overpriced and not worth it. $20 for a dozen of wings is a joke. Seriously almost $10 in taxes alone ($1.75 fee for using my credit card and “other taxes” sounds pretty shady). Spend your money somewhere else.

If you don’t try the pretzel rods you’ll regret it. Also their homemade ranch is insane

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, yet we were told there were “no tables available inside” and were forced to sit outside. As soon as we asked again, the staff placed a reserved sign on an empty table right in front of us—clear disrespect.

The manager was rude, dismissive, and showed absolutely no concern for our complaints. The service overall was horrible, and to make matters worse, the treatment we received felt blatantly discriminatory. It was obvious we were not welcome, and the lack of basic courtesy or professionalism was shocking.

To top it all off, the food was mediocre at best—definitely not worth tolerating such terrible service for.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money—there are plenty of restaurants that treat people with dignity, respect, and can actually serve a decent meal.

It’s a nice spot. Good tasty pizza. But weird people on bar. Unfortunately they don’t have a bouncer if customer is misbehaving

The burgers are some of the best. It is a bar so sometimes the clientele is a little obnoxious. But the food is good and the service is great.
