Highlight of my work trip to the area. When I asked locals where to go, they all suggested this place. They weren’t wrong. Ribs on point. Good BBQ sauce. Tater salad was delicious. Favorite thing was the smoked wings, fall off the bone and just the right amount of smoke. Prices are great.

I would say gators is easily in the top 5 of local bbq spots. They have a decent variety of food options to choose from and the food is good also. Service is acceptable. The atmosphere is nice. Prices are also acceptable.

Definitely was not impressed. Ribs are smoked. I thought this place would have authentic bbq ribs fresh off the fire-burning grill. My food tasted like it was pre-cooked & warmed-up in the microwave. Small serving of pork n beans, but it tasted good. The lady taking my order was dry & partial friendly.

My family and I frequent Gator Jrs a lot. The food is pretty good. The rib tips are great, cooked to perfection, I always get my sauce on the side. The chicken on the stick is out main menu item 85% of the time it’s spot on but the other 15% it can be under seasoned we have just started asking for extra lemon pepper when we order. The fish was pretty good well seasoned. If you are in a hurry don’t be if you are getting take out even if you call your order in 20 minutes later when you arrive they may be just starting to cook I have never dined in, but it’s definitely a nice restaurant to try.

Buns for sandwich weren’t buttered or toasted. Bean side order was very small. The okra was on point. Pulled pork was pretty bland. I think this restaurant can be top tier. Service was excellent and it has a great atmosphere. Nothing special about the baked beans. Tasted like it came from a can. No napkins or paper towel roll on tables. That’s a must. They just need to take it another notch or two and there will be a line out the door.

2/6/26. The front counter person dropped utensils on the floor and picked it up off the floor and put it back with the other utensils which should have been thrown away. How sad. And order was wrong right on the spot and no apology. I’m definitely never going back. Get out of Madison with thus type of service 01/14/26- Madison MS- Location: Bbq not good at all Fush is okay they don’t have Louisiana hit sauce and the staff has the worst customer service. I’ve spent $150 bucks in last couple months after tonight. They food ain’t good enough to get bad attitudes from ordering and receiving take out. Try someone else. They are going in the wrong direction. The host with the gold teeth never once said thank you. Smile and show great customer service. Ppl work hard for their money, why waste it with rude people. Bet thousand bucks they will be closed within 2 years. We don’t pay for that type of service.

Lately, this place has been off its game. Came in on 2/13 and got 5 smoked wings and baked beans for 18.00 . The wings were charred and dry, so I took them back. There was no apology given. The cashier took my plate and reissued the wings.

You walk in and there is a vibe that you walked into the family’s personal kitchen. As we sat at our table people were walking in and being greeted by name or seeing friends and hugging. The meat portions were generous and perfectly cooked. The sauce coverage wasn’t overwhelming. Honestly the spicy chicken on a stick was my favorite. There was a potato and onion slice between each huge chunk of chicken and they were also delicious. The banana pudding tastes homemade and we MIGHT have gotten an extra serving to go after finishing our meal to eat tomorrow Don’t sleep on this place!

I have been to both locations. The one in Madison do not have good customer service but food is better. Byram has good customer service but ribs are not good like the one in Madison. I really wish they could change the people that takes orders it makes me think twice about coming into the business to spend money. Life already hard at least go in a place where you can feel appreciated for doing business. But food is great just the people that work at the front
