Bakeries with vegan goods are few and far between, so when Vegan Dining Week advertised Gather Bakehouse would have vegan sandwiches, I knew I had to go there. The bakeries and coffee shops in my neighborhood used to offer vegan items, but over time they’ve discontinued them, forcing me to travel far outside of my neighborhood in search of weekend brunches. Gather Bakehouse is in my neighborhood! It never occurred to me to go in there because I know bakeries don’t often have anything for vegans, but then I saw them on the Vegan Dining Week list. We got both the hot and cold vegan sandwiches, and at the register they cashier asked if we wanted the hot vegan ham and rolls. Why not? We got them too. $30 for the lot. I haven’t had hot ham on a roll since I was a kid, so this was going to be a trip back in time for me. Pretty dang good! The vegan hot ham was just like I remember. The sandwiches were very tasty. I’m so glad my weekend brunches in the ‘hood are back! Thank you Gather Bakehouse — keep the vegan items on your menu!

Cinnamon roll and cookie were both really good. Lots of treats, nice staff, clean and cute bakery. I will definitely be back to try some more snacks! 10/10 would recommend.

Have had multiple products and all delicious! Picked up vegan donuts from a Goodie Bag app find and they were delicious. Sourdough bread and various cookies I’ve tried are also great! Loved when we were playing along with the great British baking show too- the hobnobs were perfection 🙂 always something new and fun here!

I am so happy that Batter and Mac opened a location in Bayview! I have never had anything short of a delightful experience when I’ve gone in. The staff is friendly and personable. The baked goods are incredible (I’ve tried a variety of donuts, dinner rolls, pie, cake, croissants, sandwiches and numerous specialty desserts: they have all been exceptional). My dad’s family owned a bakery for two generations, so he and his siblings know good bakery. I ordered dinner rolls from Batter and Mac for Christmas and they all raved about how good they were, which is not an easy reaction to get from that crowd. Their coffee is also really good; the lavender honey latte is my favorite.

We live in the neighborhood, 2 minutes walking distance from the bakery. We tried 3-4 times, different products and we have never found the quality we were used to with the previous ownership. Last string was a baguette that I bought: very old and hard to eat and it looked like it was defrosted. I tried to call back, I left a message but nobody called me back.

This team knows how to bake!! Best macaron you’ll ever eat. Really great cakes and pastries. Love all the new offerings in the bakery. The classes they offer are welcoming and appropriate for all levels. Plus they stand up for what they believe in. Support this local bakery and these amazing ladies!!

Stopped in for the first time in search of an almond croissant. We had such a great experience—service was cheery and delightful—and we left with many more baked goods than we needed. So delicious!

I love to stop by here after work or on my off days when I can! Employees are all very kind and attentive. Great prices for the quality of goods they serve, and I love the rotation of things they sell. I usually stick to a regular order, but I’m never afraid to stray from it because when I try something new, it’s never missed. Also, they have my favorite buttercream donut maybe ever

I’m so excited there’s now a location closer to home! I’ve been following their journey for a while–totally obsessed with their creatively shaped macarons–and even took a macaron class at their Menomonee Falls spot.
I had to stop by for their Dubai Chocolate Takeover Day–I’m such a fan of those flavors and couldn’t wait to see the creativity in action. Despite it being the morning of the Milwaukee Marathon (parking was a bit tricky!), I made it and even found a spot. Usually, parking in the area is a breeze, and it wasn’t too busy when I went.
I treated myself to the Dubai Brownie, Dubai Cream Puff, Dubai Macaron, and the W.A.P. latte–can you tell I’m into the Dubai theme? Everything was incredible, and that brownie was so rich and decadent. Honestly, I wish I could’ve taken home the whole display case!
They also offer hot ham and rolls on Sundays, mouthwatering deli sandwiches, locally made goodies (like tots, lumpia, and fish), plus your classic bakery favorites. The cakes looked amazing too–perfect if you need something to grab and go.
Can’t wait to become a regular at this new spot!
