This restaurant is close to the zoo and is a fantastic spot to enjoy great food and drinks after a day looking at all the animals. They’ve got a bunch of different kinds of craft beers, amazing cocktails that taste awesome, and food that’s super delicious and unique. The place looks really nice and the people there were prompt and helpful. The best part is that even though it’s a fancy spot, it doesn’t cost a ton of money, so you can have a nice meal without breaking the bank. Oh, and don’t miss out on trying their turkey Reuben and the bacon and fig jam bruschetta! Both were a bit different from the usual, but worth it for sure!

I went here with a group of 7 before a show at Ludlow Garage last night. We made an online reservation 3 days prior. 3 of the 7 in our party arrived 10 minutes early and we were told they did not have a reservation in their system for us, but we were able to show them that we had text messages confirming our reservation. The hostess said they could still take us, on their outdoor rooftop. We really had no choice, so to the rooftop we went. There was another party of 4 or 5 who came in behind us claiming to have a reservation, which the restaurant also did not have on record. I understand that sometimes systems fail and there is not always something you can do about that. However, when the rest of our party arrived and we began to order food, about half of our party wanted the burger…which happens to be the only menu item that they do not serve on the roof, for a reason that did not make sense and was not worth remembering. They don’t have a separate kitchen on the roof, so why can’t a burger be brought upstairs when everything else can? The final issue was that one of our guests ordered a salad, and was not told that they did not have enough ingredients to make that salad until the rest of the party received their food. For our troubles, we were given a $50 gift card, which we did not have to push to get. Our server was also pleasant and attentive and we made it to our show on time.

Great atmosphere for lunch. Casual and upbeat. Philly cheese steak and fries were wonderful. Perfectly cooked.

Probably the worst meal I’ve had in Cincinnati. We waited 40-50 minutes before getting served our food (saw other tables with long wait as well). Friend’s order came out wrong. And my order of Portobello Mushroom Burger was a joke of a sandwich – teeny tiny mushroom a third the size of the bun. We mentioned it to the waitress and she looked into it, said that the chef knew it was small but served it anyways. The manager came out to apologize and fired another one for us, but the burger was very okay and lackluster and the coleslaw had no flavor (not worth $17). When the bill eventually came, we were charged for the mushroom burger which we thought the Manager said he would comp. The waiter was visibly frustrated with the situation but did help us make it right, thank you.

This was my first time at The Gaslight. Risotto was highly recommended to me. I was never a fan of Risotto from other restaurants, but I tried it tonight. I am now hooked on The Gaslight’s Risotto. And it is the seasoning that makes it so good.

Literally just eat anywhere else on this street. The rooftop seating is nice but nobody told us the menu on the roof is basically reduced to about 30% of the menu. On top of that the chefs special (which was a salmon pasta with some veggies) did not look appetizing and tasted even worse than it looked. I typically do not write reviews unless the place is good, I’m making an exception here due to wasting so much money on lackluster food. For two persons who ate 1 appetizer and 1 entree with 3 drinks (1 cocktail and 2 beers) we should not have had to pay over 80 dollars.
