Came across this nice Andalusian restaurant by chance. We got really lucky to get a table, and to be served by Camilo.

The food was really good, especially the octopus. It’s best to get a few things and share. If you plan to get paella, maybe get a little bit less than you think. The paella portions are large.

The service was great, and the atmosphere is really nice.

We visited Gascona after seeing the high ratings, and while the prices were reasonably fair, we unfortunately left feeling pretty disappointed by the overall experience.

The biggest issue was the lack of guidance when ordering. We ended up with three starters: battered shrimp, croquetas, and battered chorizo (which said fried but we did not expect battered), which were all heavy, deep-fried dishes, served on the same bed of crisps, and with the same sauce in the case of the chorizo and shrimp. It was a shame the waiter didn’t step in to suggest a more varied selection.

The service felt a little erratic, but perhaps that is my naïvety towards Spanish culture. Our main dish, the Arroz Gascona, was placed on the table while we were still eating the starters, and then served to us 10 minutes later, again while we were still eating the starters. The rice itself was too salty, and the veal inside was tough with unrendered fat. Plus, the shrimp weren’t deveined, which felt like a basic detail the kitchen missed.

Our server was a nice man and clearly working hard, but the bright lighting and the overall hurried feeling made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The decor was lovely but not used to its potential. We were also a little put off by the direct request to leave a review, which seemed to prioritise managing their rating over ensuring genuine satisfaction. We hope the restaurant can tighten up the kitchen quality and service consistency, as it could be a great spot.

Good service and atmosphere, everyone was very friendly. However, we were disappointed in the paella – it is supposed to be sticky and dry, and we were served a soup and told it was the local way they make paella. They did change it but not much difference.
We did like the rest of the stuff (starters, and one of us had tuna, which was good) so 4 stars overall considering the friendly service. The staff was indeed very courteous.

The mussels were an absolute highlight—perfectly cooked, big, and bursting with flavor. The tuna tataki was equally impressive, tender and juicy, hitting all the right spots. Patatas bravas were a solid addition, very good and true to their Spanish roots. Unfortunately, the shrimp disappointed with an off-putting, funny taste that didn’t sit well. The atmosphere was quintessentially Spanish—loud, happy, and family-oriented, likely amplified by the festive holiday vibe. Service was good, attentive, and friendly, which added to the overall enjoyment. Despite the shrimp, I’d return for those mussels and tataki in a heartbeat!

We had an amazing evening at Gascona. Oscar was fantastic and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We ordered both the seafood and mixed paella along with a bottle of wine, and everything was spot on. The paellas were full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and felt genuinely local.

The wine selection was also great and paired beautifully with the meal. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively, making it a great spot for a special night out. It’s perfect for birthdays or gatherings with friends. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and really added to the overall experience.

If you’re in the area and want delicious local food with warm service, Gascona is definitely worth a visit.

I came upon Gascona at a late hour with three friends. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They made sure we had a chance to order the paella and recommended dishes for us. Everything we tried was delicious and by far the stand out meal of our 7 nights in Sevilla. Can’t fault anything with the food or experience. The depth of flavour in the vegetable rice was unreal. My seafood loving friends said it was one of, if not the best seafood paellas they’d ever had. Special shout out to Lidia who exemplifies exceptional service. She was always on hand when we needed anything and was so personable. Didn’t catch the name of the couple of guys that served us too but they were also lovely and happy. Happy staff is always a good sign for me! Will definitely stop by on any future visits to Seville!

To start off with the positive, the staff was wonderful. They were warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive. You could tell they were genuinely happy to have you dining with them. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable. It was easy to make a reservation and we didn’t wait for our table. Unfortunately, the negative is entirely in the food. Maybe it’s just what we had specifically but looking around at other peoples dishes the food all appeared very generic and blah. We had the fried sea bream which you had no idea what the fish was like because the batter was incredibly thick. The potatoes with three sauces tasted like the sauces came from cans from the supermarket. The salad was the only thing that was ok for us. I hate to leave any negative review because the staff were so great but I would definitely say this was our worst meal in all of Spain.

The paella was delicious — moist and full of flavor, not dry at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

We had seafood croquettes for starters and then arroz negro (squid ink rice with seafood) for main. Croquettes were nice, but the arroz negro was amazing. Best main we have eaten during our trip to Sevilla. The staff were top notch, friendly and helpful.
