I got the mini lunch for $6 (1-4pm, I believe). It comes with a soda. I didn’t need the soda, but the lunch was DELICIOUS! I got 2.5 ‘fall off the bone’ curry chicken thighs (seasoned, but not salty), peas (red beans) and rice, cabbage, potato, carrots and a plantain. The mini lunch is enough for TWO meals.
ENJOY!

I had high hopes for this place, even bypassed two proven local Jamaican food spots to give it a shot. When I walked in, I was barely greeted, and was literally asked “what do you want”. Being pretty well versed with Caribbean culture that alone was my red flag, if not the absence of patrons in the parking lot or store. We ordered what I thought was a safe dish: curry goat w/ white rice. The goat was probably the worst I’ve ever had in any place or part of the world. I’ve had British goat curry that was better if being frank. The paste from the powder itself wasn’t even fully cooked or thoroughly broken down. It’s like they boiled the meat but then sped through the curry which left it pasty and meat lacking flavor. Two bites and I threw the whole plate away- and I hate wasting food. 1/10 recommend if you’re well versed with Jamaican/ Caribbean food.

Garvey’s is a family owned Jamaican restaurant and grocer. I have been a patron here for many years now, food is ALWAYS consistent and the service is very friendly and wholesome. The oxtails here are the BEST.

HIDDEN GEM!!! I ordered several dishes to try out and I was pleasantly surprised. I had Curry Goat with white rice ( it was super tender and spicy and the rice well cooked). the Jerk Chicken was juicy and well seasoned and cooked. I didn’t like the rice and peas, maybe needed some coconut milk?? I also had the Oxtail, even though it was well cooked it tasted weird. I also ordered some Beef Patties, it was delicious and definitely tasted like it was made in house, tasty flaky and fresh. Overall I was pleased with my food. I will be going back for more.

This was one of my favorite grocery and take out food. I stop by to purchase oxtail , peas and rice, since then I got turn off of oxtail. Why sell beef and call it oxtail. A few stores are mixing beef and oxtail and charging high prices.
They are friendly and have grocery when you cannot find in store.
Thank you for your service.

The food is always prepared fresh and made with love. Great customer service and the restaurant always has a welcoming vibe. I love that you can find authentic Caribbean products/brands that you normally cannot find in the states. Try the oxtails and fish on Fridays, you won’t be disappointed !

I’m sorry but no. My plantains were ROCK HARD. My brown stew chicken was super dry. The little bit of gravy that I did get was more oil than sauce. The patty was good however its a patty. The bulk of my meal was horrible.
