The name is fitting. Everything tasted like garlic and it wasn’t appetizing. The chicken carbonara was heavy and bad. The artichoke appetizer tasted like oil and garlic. I couldn’t even take it home since it just wasn’t my jam. I feel bad because the staff was great but the food was below par.

I’ve been to the garlic rose maybe 20 times altogether! It’s one of my favorite restaurants!!! The food is always so delicious, and they change items on the menu a few times a year so there’s always new things to try, so it never gets too repetitive!! The owners are always around and they’re lonely. The waiters are so friendly and lovely too. The harvest chicken is one of my favorite meals ever !! Highly highly highly recommend

If your a garlic fan, then you’ve come to the right place. This little bistro has been a staple of Cranford for a very long time and still puts out top quality food as well as the service. My only complaint is the dark atmosphere. The walls are completely empty and a bad paint scheme that needs serious updating. There is an American flag on one of the walls which is fine in my view and a framed football jersey that says Garlic 96 on it. Some more bright colors, flowers and possibly some pictures or art of Italy or Italian cuisine would be a nice touch. Over-all I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to be checked out if your visiting this beautiful town.

My son and I had a delicious dinner at Garlic Rose. Although it’s not on the menu, they prepared eggplant parmigiana for my son . Our dinners were excellent–creative, fresh, and piping hot. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. I’m sure we will return soon.

My coworker recommended this place because I am a garlic lover. I love the atmosphere at this restaurant. Julio Iglesias songs playing in the background. I visited around 1pm and it was very quiet and not too busy; amazing red sangria; friendly servers; I love the main dish – short ribs and broiled salmon with yellow rice. It was very fresh and cooked to perfection; the bathroom is clean and organized- smells like roses; rating this place 5 stars because my experience was great and I loved my food choices.

I had heard decent things about this place and decided to make it a date night with my boyfriend. Our waiter David was super great with his service but I was truly disappointed in the restaurant itself. We paid 143$ and barely got any food. First off, I ordered the lamb chops and they came with so much fat on them and were served with a bit of salad underneath them for 48 bucks.. second, when I ordered a glass of Pinot from the menu it said 11 dollars. My boyfriend ordered a cocktail. Some how we were both charged 13.75 for each drink… someone clearly made a mistake or we were pretty much scammed for our whole meal. It’s pretty sad because they have good reviews but I’m not sure what happened this night.

If you love garlic, this is a must try! The staff and the owners were so pleasant and welcoming. We really enjoyed the experience and the food. Seeing the additional ventilation that was installed (as a COVID-19 precaution) was very reassuring during these times. The roasted garlic spread was delicious and the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back!

I started off with a Smoked Slab Bacon(With a maple glaze and bbq sauce) and a salad. My main dish was the francaise with chicken. The Bacon slab and salad was good but I found my francaise to be bland and watery. The restaurant itself was ok I found it to be a bit too dark and the music was a bit loud for my taste. The service was cordially attentive, the complimentary bread had a perfectly toasted crust and a warm soft core. It came with a succulent roasted garlic paired along with an oregano-parsley aioli. The complimentaries opened my appetite and the sangria warmed my heart. I order the boneless beef short ribs and the Salmon, both dishes were appetizing and flavorful yet, they missed that “Wow” effect I was expecting from this Bistro. I had a good experience overall
