From the moment we sat down, our waiter spoke to us with condescension—as if we didn’t belong there. It set the tone for a meal that only got worse. We were told we couldn’t order appetizers first because “Saturdays are busy and the kitchen appreciates getting the whole order at once.” That’s not hospitality—it’s control.
My husband ordered the ravioli for dinner and was stunned to receive just four small pieces on the plate. $24.50 for four ravioli? That’s not a portion—it’s an insult. I had the shrimp scampi, which was equally underwhelming, bland and poorly executed at $36.50.
Even the drinks were a letdown. The bartender couldn’t manage a decent Martini or Vodka Gimlet—both arrived unbalanced and sloppy, which only added to the sense that quality wasn’t a priority.
We were seated in a cramped upstairs room that felt more like a storage closet than a dining space. Even the bread was forgettable—something you’d expect with a takeout antipasto, not at a restaurant charging $50–100 per person.
I had hoped for a warm, authentic Italian experience. Instead, it felt like we were being tolerated, not welcomed. Definitely not returning.

Thank you for your response. Just to clarify on our end: my husband walked in two days prior to make the reservation in person, so while it may not have shown up under OpenTable, we did have one.
As for the Shrimp Scampi, the photo I shared reflects exactly how it was presented at the table—before anything was touched or mixed. I understand presentation can shift once plated, but in this case, what we received looked just as pictured.
I appreciate your willingness to address the concerns, and I hope this helps clarify our experience.
I’m so glad I discovered this quaint little gem in Tinton Falls! As a first-timer, my experience was so wonderful that I’m already a lifelong fan. This family-owned spot has some serious history—did you know their sister restaurant in Coney Island has been around since 1965? Such an impressive business-minded family!
We were greeted by Victor, one of the owners, and Michael, a charming and personable bartender. We arrived early and had the bar to ourselves, which made the place feel even more intimate—like I was in a cozy countryside pub. The atmosphere was just perfect!
For food, I had the pea soup and gem soup-salad combo, while my husband enjoyed the calamari. Both were absolutely delicious, and the drinks were fantastic too. I can’t wait to return for dinner—this place is a total must-visit!
