Two of us went on the recommendation of a colleague. Mind you we are staying in a hotel 3 mins walk away and wouldn’t know it was there.
Small and quaint. Ingredients are fresh and wine list is pretty extensive for the size.
The vegan choices on the website are not on the menu as I wanted to try a main as a starter but they were unwilling to do it for the pricing. Offered to pay for the highest starter but they wouldn’t budge.
Food came fast and hot. See pics for menu. Was amazing. The Negroni was good if a tad sweet. The rosé perfect.
Pizza crust was divine and can easily feed two if you had starters.
Food was delicious and precise portions. Skipped dessert much to my dismay.
100% would recommend and will go back to explore the menu more extensively.
The waitress was polite and the atmosphere was cozy but that’s where the positives end.
I work offshore, so it’s becoming my main place for a decent feed when I land!
Warm and friendly, you’ll find everything from amazing pasta to wood fired pizzas, and classic Italian desserts!
My default is the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle oil and a tiramisu to finish! I had the air dried beef with parmesan to start this time round!
For fans of a grappa after dinner they have two to ease that full tummy!
I had two large glasses of wine, a basket of wood fired, garlic focaccia, and two grappas, just to reflect the pricing!
Proper Italian food done right!
I tried one of their mocktails and it was delicious, also didn’t seem overpriced like many are nowadays.
We had the house pizza from the specials and wild boar ravioli. Pizza was good but really enjoyed the ravioli.
Service was good and had no issues.
For a young or old couple great place sitting by the wood burner on a wet and windy cold winters night. For foodies, a nice place to visit if you are close by or want a change. But at this point, I will only return if there is no other choice.
As a point of improvement, If you can please change the noises from the restaurant phone and door. They are very loud and they really break up the atmosphere set by the lighting, the smelling candles and the music. Once that’s done, I think the restaurant will be the absolute best!
– Food was really bland with no decent flavour (maybe just got it on a bad night?)
– Final nail in the coffin is the automatically added 12% service charge for basic service
– Really disappointing as we had been looking forward to trying here, would not recommend
