Garbarino’s Restaurant 4th Gen
The name is an homage to Mr. Garbarino’s great-grandaunt Louisa, matriarch of the Southern Italian restaurant, Garbarino’s, that opened in Lynbrook, Long Island, NY in 1945. It closed in 1996.
An immigrant from Genoa, she passed the restaurant down through the family for more than 50 years.
Garbarino’s features a menu of family recipes including pastas made in-house, veal chop parm and chicken piccata.
Happy Hours are from 5 to 7 PM – Tuesday through Friday, and will showcase dishes like beer-battered artichoke hearts served with a bucket of Peroni beers.

Food: We ordered the Spaghetti Pesto Alfredo & Rigatoni Tomato Cream.
The ingredients listed on the menu is what you get. Very simple, no extra effort given beyond the output of a classic italian dish. Each plate proportionately could have fed two people so it felt like we were eating for four. We both left full, but underwhelmed with the flavor profiles rendered.
Service: Overall our waitress was pretty absent, having asked us how we were doing only twice, leaving little room for any comments or feedback to be offered. She recognized her absence and offered us a surprise tiramisu (complimentary) to make up for the lack of attentiveness to our table.
Seating: A large bar stretches the restaurant accompanied by wooden chairs, tables and a few booths tucked against the parallel wall. The seating is not tight, meaning you have space between yourself and other parties but the wooden chairs/tables were uncomfortable. In 2026, we just expected a little more from a restaurant charging $20+ for pasta plates.
Affordability: If you’re going out for drinks and an appetizer, you might be able to sneak your bill in for under $50, but otherwise forget it. Each plate is $20+ with options on the wine list reaching as high as $200+ … We wouldn’t describe this atmosphere as fancy, but the prices are trying to be.
Comments: Always support local, small business and give every spot a try. We left this restaurant full, but saying we wouldn’t be back, and think it’s important that you get an opportunity to read an honest review before you spend your hard earned money. Take care, and happy eating!

I truly enjoyed dining at Garbarino’s. The food was amazing, the wait staff was very helpful and attentive and they were very knowledgeable of the food and wine offerings. The aptetizers absolutely stole the show!

We hosted my bridal shower at Garbarino’s this past weekend and we cannot say enough amazing things about their team! When my MOH needed to quickly find a new venue since our original option closed, Andrew was SO helpful and helped us create a custom food/bar package within our budget. And the food was AMAZING!!! Highly highly recommend for events!

I HIGHLY Garbarino’s for your next event !! I have always loved their restaurant for the adorable downstairs filled w family photos + GENEROUS portions on all of their entrees and the vibe. While planning my friends bridal shower, our restaurant cancelled on us and i called Andrew at garbarinos about 2 months before in a panic and he was a knight in shining armor! Told him our budget and he curated the perfect menu (baby greens, Brussels , rigatoni w tomato cream, eggplant parm, chicken piccata, and meatballs) +champagne package for our 30 women. There was SO much food and we got so many compliments saying this was the best food they’ve had at a bridal shower. One bridesmaid is gluten free and she was allowed to just order anything off the menu just for herself!! We brought our own table cloths and a LOT of decorations and Andrew let us in the day before to start setting up. Definitely consider them for your next shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, or holiday dinner!!!

My friend and I met for a fabulous meal for the restaurant week experience. We were definitely impressed from start to finish! The service was amazing, the food was outstanding in every regard. We took home a very heavy portion to be enjoyed again! Don’t skip on this hidden gem.

My husband and I went there for the first time about 5 months ago. The cell chip was out of this world. We went back a month later, took friends, and they said the veal chip was the best they had ever eaten. We returned two more times and the quality of the veal chop had deteriorated significantly. I don’t know if there is a new cook or a new meat supplier. Unfortunately we won’t be back, which is really disappointing as we had such a great experience the first two times. The rest of the food was very good as were the servers.

Another excellent meal! Tried the stuffed banana pepper special, which was excellent, and we always have to start with the bread, beans and greens, and arancini. Our group had a few pastas and entrees, and you really can’t go wrong. Chicken Parmesan, chicken piccata, pesto Alfredo, and you’ve never had food that comes out so hot (it’s incredible!). They do add 20% gratuity on parties of 6 or more, but they call it out very well, which made it even nicer to give a little extra. The portions are also leftover friendly even if you come hungry.

First time visiting. We had a 90th birthday party in their upstairs private area. The open space with the windows was spectacular especially after we dressed the tables. Food was amazing and very plentiful. My favorite was the roasted Brussels sprouts and I don’t even like them, until I tried them cooked this way. Yum!!! The grilled yellow squash was really good as well.

Not sure how this place has been under my radar, the dinner we just had here was 10 out of 10 delicious. 100% will be back.
The rigatoni was short ribs was honestly one of the best Italian dinners I’ve ever had in Pittsburgh
