Absolutely loved Ganesh Dosa. The dosas are crisp, fresh & full of flavor—just the way they should be. The masala is perfectly spiced, the chutneys & sambar are on point. Chai so awesome. Everything tastes made with care. I’d highly recommend this place for fresh, authentic dosa. If you’re in Kailua Beach & craving authentic South Indian dosa, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be back.

The food was delicious with a few fusion flavors like a Mediterranean with olives and feta cheese, another with cheese, avocado. The usual flavors with potatoes filling and with chutney powder is available as well and delicious. Soft and spongey idlis. The sambhar soup was good and served hot. Chutneys were alright . The Madras coffee was a downer though. The staff was super friendly, attentive and considerate.

I was looking forward to going to Ganesh Dosa and I want to say upfront that we were glad we went. We literally planned our trip around coming here for lunch!!

The restaurant is easy to find and there is plenty of paid parking in front of it. The inside of the restaurant isn’t particularly roomy and has a few seats. There is additional seating outdoors.

The menu here is too extensive and innovative for a Dosa purist like me. You order at the counter and give your name – they call out when the dosa is ready and you go to the counter to pick up your food. We ordered 4 different dosas and a coffee. The dosa comes with a bowl of sambar and a small chutney – you get a choice of coconut or tomato chutney to pick from.

Overall, I would say I enjoyed the meal. With that said, the dosas themselves weren’t very good “as dosas”. Nor was the sambar or the chutney. The dosas didn’t taste anything like they should nor did the sambar/chutney. If I knew nothing about this restaurant and was given their dosa/chutney/sambar to taste, I would take one bite and easily say that it was made by someone that really doesn’t know what a dosa is and how it tastes. Again, that’s me measuring this restaurant and their food against a very high standard, having been raised on Dosas and Sambar and Chutney and filter coffee. So maybe it’s not a fair comparison.

With that said, if in Oahu for a week, I would go again. But that is more a reflection on me and my dietary preferences/needs!!

This cozy spot in Kailua is a must-visit for Indian Dosa and Idly lovers. We were pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem. The service was impeccable, and the flavors were simply amazing. We indulged in both Idly and Dosa, and the wide variety of Dosa options was a delight. This place is a must-stop for anyone craving authentic Indian Crepes while in and around Kailua.

Fantastic hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant in the heart of Kailua town. This café style location has seating for smaller parties and offers crepe-like dosas. Served with a side of lentil soup, there is a selection of different dosas.

Food pictured is in a to-go container.

The dosa and idly batter is fermented to perfection (thanks to the weather ) and their sambar and chutney are authentic! Their coffee is not the typical filter coffee.

Highly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful experience at Ganesh Dosa. We ordered several different dosas and each one was outstanding — nicely crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The dishes taste truly authentic, and the serving sizes are very satisfying. The restaurant is well-kept and the team is welcoming and attentive. Definitely a great spot for Indian cuisine lovers or anyone looking to try something different!

Its a nice dosa spot in Ohaua. There is indoor and outdoor sitting. The service is fast but staff seemed to be overworked. The dosa and sambhar were nice, but chutneys can be better. Overall, still worth going here for dosa.
