Reviews
Good environment and service.
Looks like a new restaurant, it definitely worth more reviews
The most uncomfortable part of the experience was checking in at the host stand. Please understand this restaurant is still very new and I’m sure they are working out the logistics of the space.
This was a particularly cold night so once we checked in my wife had no interest in standing outside until we were called. As guests continued to arrive we all piled up at the front door hovering over the poor table nearest the door. We (party of 2) were on time for our reservation but noticed several people come in after us and get seated. My wife revisited the host and we were seated shortly after that. May have been a simple oversight. No problem. We were still seated within 5-10 minutes of our reservation time.
This restaurant was clean with a full and lovely staff. The gem of the entire experience was our waitress Milu. Milu came over and greeted us promptly and asked if it was our first time. It was our first visit, but not our last. Milu told us it was only her second day but we would never have guessed it. Milu voluntarily explained each section of the menu even though I’m sure she was super busy. Milu had 1-2 recommendations per category on the menu. My wife and I ordered and we received the complimentary bread with marinara dipping sauce. I believe the bread may have been a focaccia. It was more soft and delicate than most, in a good way. The marinara was delightful. We had just visited Italy this summer and this sauce was just as good as some that we tasted in Tuscany.
The assisting staff constantly patrolled and ensured everyone had a full glass. We only had water on this particular trip but the cocktails I saw being shuttled to guest tables looked stunning.
We had a couple appetizers, I don’t remember the names. One was actually an entree salad that had amazing Italian meats peppered in and the dressing was delicious. We also had a cheese based appetizer with tomato. Both are pictured in this review. Both were 10/10. My wife had lasagna and I had the chicken marinara. Both were 10/10 and both were really 2 person entrees. We both had over 50% to take home. The prices were fair, food delicious and the service was perfect. Even though we were full we couldn’t resist trying the tiramisu dessert. We were warned that it was soaked in rum which was not a problem for us but may be for some that choose to not consume alcohol. I thought it was very mindful of Milu to explain that to be sensitive to the matter.
After all we consumed our bill was just a tad over $100. We were pleased. Milu even asked for any feedback from our visit. I noted to my wife that Milu always spoke about the restaurant like she was 100% invested by always using ownership words. She never distanced herself from the restaurant. That shows great pride and accountability, very rare these days.
We are a busy couple and don’t get many date nights so when it goes well we really appreciate it. Thank you to Milu and the amazing kitchen staff. Congratulations to the owners. We really hope to see this place do well.
We noticed there is a large concrete slab outside the restaurant so maybe they will have patio seating in the future. Maybe they can add heated seating out front for guests waiting to be seated to free up the front entry door. I’m sure it will be worked out and there may be city limitations.
Forgot to add. They did have many gluten free menu items and vegetarian items as well for those that are interested.
They launched with a full menu, and the food came out quickly. We started with the complimentary bread and marinara sauce, which was tasty, though the presentation could use a bit of refinement to match the more high-end feel the rest of the menu conveys.
For our meal, we tried the Burrata di Bufala, the Ravioli alla Aragosta, and the Cotoletta di Melanzane alla Parmigiana. Everything was exceptional.
The burrata was fresh and flavorful. The lobster ravioli was surprisingly meaty – unlike many versions that are more pasta than filling. The eggplant parmigiana was extremely tasty and impressively light; many restaurants over-fry this dish, but here it was cooked to perfection. The drinks were just as impressive. We tried the Milano Manhattan, the Galeano, and the Italian Margarita. All were well-crafted, but the Italian Margarita was our absolute favorite, a must-try.
Service was good overall. There’s still room to become a bit quicker and more proactive with guests’ needs, but for an opening night, the team did very well and our server, Giulianna, was great.
One suggestion: consider dimming the lights. They were quite bright, which took away from the cozy atmosphere and made it feel a bit like last call. Softer lighting would elevate the dining experience even further.
Overall, Galeano’s did an amazing job for their first night open. We are very happy to have them in town and can’t wait to keep dining there. Congratulations on a strong start!
