Going to this restaurant was a mistake. I was looking for a good Steak in Trinidad, and saw that this restaurant is relatively new, has some good reviews and offers steaks. As soon as I pulled up and saw that it is located in a hotel, I should have turned around. The ambiance is very sterile (typical hotel restaurant). My waitress was relatively friendly, but rather slow and forgot to order / bring my soda water. I started with an avocado salad, which was OK. The steak however was really nothing special. It was eatable but nothing more. The sides were not good at all, mashed potatoes had a convenience taste and the vegetables were dry and also had a very strange taste to them. I don’t know who wrote the good reviews for this place, but at most, it’s an emergency solution, if you check in late at night and everything else is closed. Other than that, don’t go here

Apparently the chef makes what he wants no matter what is on the menu and the manager doesn’t care. I ordered the Chicken Piccata, which is a spinach and mushroom stuffed chicken breast with julienne vegetables. I received a chicken breast with a lemon sauce, with capers in it, and steamed broccoli and carrots. We were not informed there wasn’t asparagus or green beans available, they were just substituted with steamed vegetables without any word said. The baked mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box. I spoke to the manager and he said the chef has always made the orders that way but it doesn’t reflect on the menu. I said it should have been explained when we made the order and we could have had the choice to continue the order or not. I could have paid a lot less money somewhere else for a piece of chicken and almost uncooked broccoli and carrots. He had no apology, no offer of a discount or to replace the food with anything else. He said did everything taste ok that you did receive and left the table. To be fair, most of the food did taste good, even though I didn’t eat much of mine. We paid over $100 for 4 meals and 3 of them were wrong. Definitely not as fancy and high class as the website makes it seem. The don’t care attitude was a turn off from eating here.

I got to the hotel after a long day driving and needed some food. I called the restaurant downstairs and they didn’t answer. It was 8:30 they close at 9pm. I ordered chicken Alfredo as take-out so I could just eat in my room. I didn’t know where to go to pick it up. Then found out I was supposed to go to the bar. The chicken was decent. It tasted like day old rotisserie chicken thrown into fettuccine. The Alfredo sauce was oily but tasted great.
The one problem I have is that they served it to me in a thin plastic desert to-go container. It was so hot that it melted through the plastic and oil and sauce was dripping all over the counter. Plus I almost burnt myself. I can appreciate it being fresh and hot but the desert tray with thin plastic was a mistake. Now I wonder if I ate plastic on my pasta. Not too happy about that.
Originally I had 4 stars for food but then I ate the mac n cheese. It tastes like the yellow nacho cheese spread mixed onto some pasta. No seasoning or cheddar cheese added. Very bland. Overall the fettuccine was alright, the chicken was okay. I’m a little pissed about the melted plastic tray.

The food and service was spectacular! Trinidad definitely needed a restaurant like this. Fancy yet had a casual feeling. The view was the best as well. Highly recommend getting the muscles and bacon shrimp for dinner!

I enjoyed eating at Gagliardi’s 489, but the only complaint I have is the chef needs to learn how to make green chili like the locals. Having grown up in Trinidad, the green chili on the pork ribeye was very disappointing. Please get a recipe from someone in town and I will bet that will be one of the top items on your menu.
Service was fantastic and other items were very tasty.

We were seated immediately. Water provided 5 minutes later. Wait staff took our orders (for just two people), refilled our glasses 3 times. Other than that, not a look or acknowledgment and couldn’t anyone’s attention.
After an hour waiting for food I asked what happened, I didn’t get an answer, other than a mumble that one of the other wait staff moved their orders in front of mine. No apology, no asking if I wanted to talk to the manager, nothing. Ten minutes later, our food mysteriously appeared, no explanation. Meanwhile, the manager is walking around the restaurant chatting up other guests and ignoring us.
During this time, we were polite and did not make a scene. We just wanted our food. Before we finished eating, the check came and the wait staff made a joke about the paperwork and said they hoped the food was worth the wait.
When we left, there were only two other tables still eating. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost full and about 15 minutes after we had ordered, a party of 8 arrived. They were seated, served, and finished eating before we even got our food.
And, still no comment, apology, or even thank you. I was only looking for a nice quiet meal and a little nit of service. I’m disappointed

The restaurant was at 90% capacity, but the noise level was very low…we could easily converse! It was very open, bright, and calming.

This was one of the most disappointing meals I have ever had. I expected so much more. A friend was visiting from out of town and offered to take me and my husband to dinner. I suggested this restaurant because I had heard good things and had not been there before. The applewood smoked pork chop sounded inviting and two of us ordered it. Both were very tough, very fatty around the edges and undercooked. And what was that weird and lukewarm gravy on top? We were supposed to get asparagus but were served cold broccoli and hard as a rock baby carrots. We did get our asparagus afterwards and they tasted good but were undercooked. The Mac and cheese was okay but also lukewarm. Has this restaurant ever heard of heated plates? Especially in a room which is sterile and cold. On a positive note my husband enjoyed the duck but he received the same broccoli and carrots. Really? The waitress was nice and accommodating.

We wanted to take our family to a nice meal so we decided to try here, The steak was cooked right but no flavor, the potatoes no flavor also, broccoli and carrots way undercooked and super hard, Macaroni and spaghetti had a terrible flavor, the bacon wrapped shrimp was edible but pasta under was also terrible, Complete waste of money and way overpriced for food that tastes like that, we spent $250 for most of our food to be left on the plates because it was so bad! On another note the twin sister waitresses were very sweet and although being very busy because it was just the 2 of them they did great and the taste of the food can’t be blamed on them!! We just would hate for someone else to be trying to do something nice for a family meal and not be able to enjoy and waste that much money!

One of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had so let’s break this down from start to finish. Starter: bread and oil – frozen bread came out undercooked and doughy with a side of some tasteless seed oil and minced garlic. Main: Gnocchi is not made in house and it’s served with a poor excuse of a red sauce because it’s definitely not a vodka sauce. Lasagna was questionable at best. Don’t try to go fancy and serve duck when you can’t properly execute the basics. Dessert: grandma is most certainly not making that peach cobbler,
if you can even call it that. We received what appeared to be canned peaches and cinnamon oatmeal mixed together with a soup like consistency. Bread pudding was a sponge with an entire stick of melted butter on top. On the plus side no one got sick from their food but it was also borderline inedible. I understand Trinidad Colorado isn’t exactly a food Mecca but I’d rather eat McDonald’s. 1.5/10 would not recommend.
