We had the Rice table that was 3-4 courses of many different foods. Each course had great flavors and foods that tantalizing the pallette. The Seafood soup was by far the favorite between my wife and myself. However, that doesnt diminish the experience of each item served. It was all good!
This is an Indonesian inspired spot which is a new one for me!
Short and sweet – I thought everything we had was amazing. The flavors are quite bold, spicy and filled with umami.
My wife and I each got their version of a tasting platter They start by giving you a collection of spicy sauces and pickles to pair with all of the dishes. These sauces range in spices from a 4/10 – 7/10 in my opinion, but I don’t have the biggest spice tolerance.
They started with smaller single bites and moved to more shareable entrees – all presented in family style. Combining all the sauces with these were heavenly.
All were great, but my favorite was probably the chicken skewer, the soup, and the short rib.
Drinks were also great – get 1 or 2.
I will go out of my way to come back here. 5/5.
They serve some classic and some innovative takes on Indonesian food, and I was very impressed by the bold flavors in the dishes I tried.
In particular, I really enjoyed the soft shell crab papaya salad, beef rendang (with shrimp chips), and the roti canai with tomato coconut curry (first time trying coconut curry).
The yuzu aioli trout roe siu mai was also very unique and tasty, some of my favorite siu mai I’ve had.
The dishes are a definitely on the pricier side but the vibes and ambience inside are great for a nice date night or night out.
Overall I’m glad I tried, and would come back!
Started the night with Oma’s old fashioned which was excellent. The food was universally delicious. I think the flavor profiles trend towards sweet, so keep that in mind.
The appetizers were all great one biters, with my favorite being the shumai. The texture on the dumpling skin was excellent and the flavor was on point.
My favorite entree was the beef rendang and rice which was sooo flavorful. I am not a big papaya salad guy but the soft shell crab papaya salad was really great. The other stand out was the clams with curry sauce, the broth was incredibly tasty.
The service and dining room were nice.
It was an awesome first experience and I will be going back and checking out their other restaurants too.
I enjoyed trying the variety of dishes, we went a la cart and ordered dishes that sounded interesting.
