Was driving through Pocono and saw a long line so stopped off; line was long; I just had the fries and Pralines & Cream ice cream;
Fries were ok, but ice cream was large portion and creamy

I’m so glad this place popped up in our dessert search! We thoroughly enjoyed every item we ordered . I tried The funnel cake Sundae, topped with some very delicious/creamy butter pecan, caramel, & whipped cream. While my girls enjoyed a huge scoop of cookie dough in a waffle cone/cup and a root beer float which they let us keep the extra root beer. My girls were happy and that funeral cake was soft and doughy! Set off the sundae. The customer service was also great! The young lady was patient with me especially since I was having a hard time deciding lol. 10/10 can’t wait to come back again!

As a customer and longtime community member I feel compelled to speak honestly.
What happened to Jimmy’s Ice Cream on Crystal Street reflects a pattern many people in this area recognize. In my personal experience James Ferraro has shown himself to be a deeply untrustworthy and unpleasant individual and that reputation goes back to his family’s business dealings long before this situation. In my view the apple did not fall far from the tree.
Because of this I will not support any business connected to him. That includes Jimmy’s locations Jane’s Hilltop and any future Jimmy’s Ice Cream operating on Crystal Street. A name on a storefront does not erase how people conduct themselves behind the scenes.
Chuck and Laurel were the heart of the Crystal Street shop. They supported students schools athletics and the wider East Stroudsburg community in real measurable ways. Customers felt that difference every time they walked in.
If Jimmy’s Ice Cream reopens at that location it will not be the same business customers loved. It will simply be the same name under different ownership.
When Chuck and Laurel reopen under a new name I will gladly support them there. My loyalty is with the people who actually built something meaningful not with a landlord who took it from them.

As a customer I want to comment on the broader issue this situation highlights.
When a single owner controls multiple similar businesses in a small market it creates an imbalance of power. In situations like that it becomes far too easy to pressure smaller operators through tactics that feel coercive rather than competitive. Withholding food shipments cutting off supply chains and disputing or refusing to honor lease renewals may be technically legal in some circumstances but they raise serious ethical concerns when used to force an outcome.
Healthy businesses compete by offering better products better service and stronger community ties. They do not win by starving out operators or leveraging ownership of suppliers landlords or brand names to eliminate people who built something independently.
What happened on Crystal Street looks less like fair competition and more like consolidation through pressure. Regardless of how the legal paperwork ultimately shakes out this kind of conduct damages trust harms workers and weakens the local business ecosystem.
As customers we still get to choose where our money goes. I choose not to support businesses that rely on monopolistic leverage or questionable practices to expand their footprint.
I will instead support Chuck and Laurel when they reopen under a new name. My support is for integrity community investment and fair dealing not for a logo controlled by someone who treats small business owners as disposable.

Nice place to bring the kids to have ice cream and play in their play area! Would not suggest the “Chocolate Brownie Delight” for $8.00.. basically ice cream with topping of “brownie bites” that does not even taste like an actual brownie taste more like chocolate cookie dough !! And the size not worth it at all! Leaving with my craving for a chocolate brownie still not satisfied! I tried to talk to staff but did not really seem to care at all!

As a customer and member of the East Stroudsburg community I want to be clear about what is happening with Jimmy’s Ice Cream on Crystal Street.

For years this location was run by Chuck and Laurel. They built more than an ice cream shop. They supported ESU athletics raised over fifty thousand dollars for local programs hosted school fundraisers and employed hundreds of local students over time. The atmosphere service and community involvement are why many of us kept coming back.

The closure of this location was not their choice. A lease dispute with the landlord James Ferraro owner of Gabel’s and Lewis’s Ice Cream led to a notice to vacate. Communication was cut off and gelato deliveries stopped. The business relationship broke down beyond repair.

As part of the exit the name Jimmy’s Ice Cream was transferred to the landlord with no compensation for the goodwill Chuck and Laurel built. If the Crystal Street location reopens under that name it will not be the same business or the same people customers supported for years.

The hardest part is the impact on local students. Over twenty current employees lost their jobs and many had been there for years. That matters to this community.

As customers we should pay attention to who actually ran the place we loved. Chuck and Laurel plan to return with a new business and a new name. Many of us will be supporting them wherever they land.

Very retro! Very classic! Excellent customer service, my 4yo dropped her hotdogs and they replaced it for her. The ice creams were amazing, milkshakes so smooth , and the churros were hot and fresh. 10/10 on everything.

The best ice cream cone around. Flavorful refreshing vanilla soft served. I got the medium & it was like a large cone but was WAY TOO MUCH. Just like an ice cream cone from Ireland & far before NJ NY CT that I’ve tried. Well worth a visit after shopping at the Crossings Outlet.

Best local ice cream
If you are visiting Poconos and you like ice cream this is your must try place. They offer a lot of options at a cheap price. My wife dropped her ice cream and they refilled her cone for free. That was really generous. Very good service.
