Do you like Szechuan flavor? Do you like explosions of yumminess like little fireworks in your mouth? Then this is your place! For flavors that will keep you coming back for more you’ll need to dine here at Fusion Fare. We ordered everything (pretty much) and ate in house as well as take-out. All of it is super good. The portions are great and the service is awesome. Very authentic and traditional tasting fare for both vegan and gluten-free eaters!

Good food and great service!
I tried the coconut chicken rice and garlic miso noodles , both were flavorful and tasted fresh, though a bit on the milder side for spice. The portions were good, but it’s definitely on the pricier end. The host was super sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a nice cozy spot in downtown Santa Cruz if you’re looking for something comforting and well made!

This place totally exceeded my expectations. This Chinese restaurant serves incredibly flavorful and authentic dishes. Highly recommend! The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was cozy. If you’re in Santa Cruz and craving Chinese food, don’t miss this spot!
My faves are spicy beef burger, sweet and sour spare ribs and coconut lava balls! I wanted to try some other dishes next time 🙂

First time in this restaurant. Their servings are pretty big so plan on sharing. We ordered salted egg fried rice, mapo tofu cheese, spare pork ribs, and beef noodle soup, then they gave us complimentary sesame balls for dessert since they said that our order is big. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Comforting soul food. The beef noodle soup helped soothe my sore throat after screaming in the rides of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk haha.

I love this place, but it took some warming up. At first, I was a little put off by the “I can give a rip” attitude from the younger lady at the counter. She wasn’t accommodating at first, but continued to make suggestions to help me find what I was looking for. I ended up getting the red oil won tons because I wanted something that was traditional but on the smaller side. She recommended it because she said it made the chef “taste home”. It was super good! The noodles had a great chew, the soup was flavorful and it tasted good until the last drop. I’d go again!

Fusion Fare is our go-to spot in Santa Cruz. The food is consistently excellent and feels truly authentic, especially the braised duck, which is always tender and full of flavor. On top of that, the owner is a genuinely nice guy who makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food — we keep coming back for a reason.

Everything is so tasty!
Thoughtful twist on traditional Chinese Sichuan food. More like a Californian Chinese restaurant – fresh ingredients, healthy nourishing, very well-balanced taste.
They’re still in the soft-opening phase and the interiors were not entirely renovated yet. Regardless, I’ll definitely come back for the food itself.

This is a restaurant opened by my friend from Sichuan. Chef Mo thoughtfully blended authentic Sichuan flavors with local American tastes. I highly recommend the Sichuan-style fries, baked buns, salted egg yolk fried rice, spicy fish fillet pot, and spicy chicken. The ingredients are fresh and healthy, and the seasoning is creative. If you’re visiting Santa Cruz, it’s definitely worth a try!

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! Grew up frequenting SF Chinatown and most people don’t have the opportunity to experience regional or authentic dishes in other areas. This restaurant goes above and beyond and is some of the best Chinese cuisine in Santa Cruz if not California. Jazz Music, simple creative decor…..and food that keeps us coming back for more. So grateful for this wonderful place.

Very casual, tasty modern style Sichuan food. The Sichuan street burgers utilizing a scallion style pancake and flavorful stir fried beef hits the spot and is served with a nice side of fries. The beef noodle was a little more plain with semi-tender beef chunks and instant style noodles. I was intrigued by the mapo tofu with cheese but didn’t order.
Despite the cashier and menu at the front, all ordering is via QR code and utensils and dishes are all self serve. The staff bring the dishes to you but it’s nice to help them out by busing your own table when you’re done.
Indoor dining only. Credit cards and Apple Pay accepted.
