Really great “home cooking,” (taste of home, made with skill) served hot in a very clean restaurant.

There were four in our party and we ordered a variety of items to see what they had.

Country Fried Steak – Incredibly moist meat, light breading seasoned just right, and just the right amount of gravy. It came with some mashed potatoes which were really good and topped with the same delicious gravy.

Fish tacos – really great, my granddaughter annihilated them. We did get to snag a piece each of the catfish; we really liked the small breaded pieces (size of fried clams), it really steps it up.

Chicken Avocado – fresh ingredients throughout the sandwich, our other granddaughter quickly ate it up.

Beef Liver and Onions – good and tender. Tasted great.

Sides – The okra was terrific. The fries were really desirable and had just the perfect amount of crunch. The coleslaw was nice, not the typical “meh” found at most places.

It took about twenty minutes for our dinner to come out and it was worth the wait, we will be back. Highly recommend.

Local down home mom & pop restaurant. Food was good. I felt the seasoning on my fish was a bit on the salty side, but I don’t use salt when I cook. The husband said it was good. His burger was good. The coleslaw was a creamy base and delicious! Service was GREAT! Glad we found it and stopped.

First 3 bites of omelet, 2 had egg shells. No sausage in the sausage gravy. Re hydrated hash brown that were undercooked, like all white, not browned.
After response– It took 40 minutes for our meal to initially get there, and I’m supposed to wait for my entre to be remade while my daughter just eats by herself, then watches me eat? I have been a chef for many years with a degree. Maybe instead of arguing with reviews online you fix some of the issues. I’m not about making a scene and sitting there arguing about my meal. I’ll vote with my money. Here’s some advice, brown the hashbrowns, put sausage in the sausage gravy, don’t break shells in the eggs, don’t have a dead quiet dining room where the only sound is the kitchens radio and take criticism better. I left with th intention of coming back until my wife showed me the meal I brought for her. Gross. I live in willow and for you to sit here and suggest your “high quality egg liquid ” is great and I’m a liar is low class. Good luck.

Solid breakfast. Cute little diner/restaurant. Was driving through, and needed somewhere to eat. Not too many places open on a Sunday around here.
Friendly.

My son and I ate here for breakfast while traveling along US Hwy 60. We each had different variations of the of the “Pile Down” breakfast, mine had chicken fried steak and his was the patty sausage. Both of them were excellent. Old school cafe in a small, old downtown in Willow Springs along the route, hit the spot. Definitely worth the stop and only a minute or two off of the highway.

If I could do negative stars for the food I would. We drive all over Missouri and no exaggeration this is the worst food we both have ever ate. No seasoning at all. My steak was either boiled or microwaved. It took over 20 minutes to get the food to the table. Macaroni and cheese was over cooked pasta shells with some shredded cheese sprinkled on top. No salt, no nothing but a pasty dough with shredded cheese. The poor waitress was going thru hell trying to get people seated, checks ran, and wait tables. She did her best with what she had to work with BUT whomever they have in that kitchen has NO BUSINESS cooking. I wouldn’t trust them making a bologna sandwich.
$50 down the drain today. Might have to skip eating in Willowsprings or stick to a fastfood chain. The food in the reviews look great, maybe we just arrived on the worst day of the century for them.

Terrible experience. Ordered Loaded Biscuits & Gravy—hashbrowns were pale and soggy, more like boiled potatoes. My gravy had zero sausage, even though the menu said it came with sausage gravy. Eggs were old and gross. My husband’s omelet was full of eggshells, and my daughter’s meal was just as awful. Everything was slop. Do yourself a favor and never go here.

Catfish was ok. Sides were tiny served in little dip flats. Hushpuppies were marble sized
Chicken and dumplings looked canned or not fresh. Mashed potatoes and gravy were cold.
Absolutely no decor or pictures. Waitress was friendly but had no knowledge of menu. When told about food being served cold her response was “sorry about that”.

The pancake was huge yes, no condiments were given or offered. The hash browns were not done, raw and not seasoned at all. Scrambled eggs (one egg) apparently you have to specify how many eggs you want Scrambled. Presentation, unappealing. Could I say I would go back, debatable. Not worth 25.00 that’s for darn sure. I also order loaded biscuits and gravy, interesting combination is all I got to say.

Absolutely a horrible experience anytime I ever go to try it. I’ve tried it at many different occasions and still never a good time. Get there and wait 20 mins just for someone to serve us then wait ANOTHER 45 mins just to get the food that came out cold like it’s been sitting for awhile already. Service is very behind. Very disappointed for a “Real restaurant” as the owner says. It’s bad that the gas station has better food and better service.
