This is an outstanding new addition to Downtown St. Pete. While nestled in the EDGE District, you will be instantly transported to Italy.
The owners, Alessandro Casali and Giangiacomo Greco, hail from Italy, and they have brought authentic and delectable dishes from the Old World.
From my travels in Italy, I noticed that the pasta dishes are not too heavy and not over-sauced – Fusillo brings this same focus on ingredient integrity and simplicity to DTSP.
This does not mean that the dishes are simple. During their grand opening, I thoroughly enjoyed the carbonara mezze maniche and the pesto Fusillo. I added burrata to the carbonara and shrimp to the pesto. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and not mushy. The carbonara was authentic Italian prepared with guanciale (not bacon, which is a sin) and the burrata added a comforting creamy element. Most carbonaras are so rich and heavy that they put you to sleep, this was not the case at Fusillo.
The pesto sauce was bright and herby, which hit the spot.
The portions are substantial and the prices are extremely fair.
Don’t let the fast-casual moniker fool you, the pasta dishes are superior to some fine dining restaurants in St. Petersburg at a fraction of the price.

Got a sneak peek at St. Pete’s newest spot on Central Ave and it’s such a great addition to the area. It’s a fast, casual Italian pasta spot with a simple menu — about six pasta favorites, all around $13–$15, and you can add toppings like shrimp, burrata, or chicken.
I tried the Pomodorini & Burrata, the Cacio e Pepe, and the Amatriciana (which was my favorite). Everything was really flavorful and tasted fresh, and I like that the menu keeps it simple and focused.
Overall, it’s a great place if you want good Italian pasta without a long wait. Perfect for a quick bite on Central Ave.

I loved everything! Was so insanely fresh and the ingredients were the best. Truthfully not a big fan of tiramisu but the tiramisu here was TOP NOTCH. I really recommend trying it! The owners so kind and helpful! If you’re looking for a taste of Italy this is your place!! 🙂

These guys are the real deal! Two best friends that moved here from Rome last year. Simple menu with all 100% Italian imported ingredients and fresh pasta. Definitely give them a shot. The price is right. We will be back.

Came in on their second day being open and the Pomodorini & Burrata was amazing! The burrata was so fresh and the pasta was so light. I satiated, in the best way possible; not tired or bloated. Then the tiramisu they have was legitimately the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life. Everything they have comes from Italy and you can tell, the quality and authenticity is unmatched. To top it off, the owners delivered their warm, loving Italian charm while my friends and I ate making it truly feel like an inviting space to enjoy a nice meal. Definitely will be my new favorite spot in St Pete.
