Cash only. Lots available in this Italian bakery, including some deli offerings (sandwiches, cold cuts by the pound). The bakery items are beautiful and portions are generous. There’s a coffee station that now includes cold brew.
We had a large order – half sheet cake, customized, and five dozen cookies. They were ready on time for a reasonable price. Recommended!

I’ve been coming to this bakery since 1975… Everything I got was awesome. The bread is amazing. I was just a little disappointed with the jelly in the jelly donuts. The amount of jelly was awesome, but the flavor of the jelly was not great.

After a long wait to order a scrambled egg, sausage and cheese sandwich, the cost was $10.04 plus tax which differed from the $9.75 posted. Then I took out cash and it became $9.75 plus tax – but nobody told you there was a 3% surcharge automatically for credit.and there’s no sign saying it. I then waited 25 minutes, along with several others. I finally got my sandwich. When I got home to eat it, it was a fried egg – not scrambled. If I wait 25 min for a sandwich, I at least want it to be what I ordered. Formosa continues to over-extend itself. They either need more help or they need to stop cutting cold cuts at peak times which slows the kitchen. They also need a third register to ring people faster. We used to go there 2-3 times a month for breakfast sandwiches but we stopped going because they kept screwing up the orders. 2 years later, they haven’t changed. Might not go back for another few years.

The Boston cream doughnuts are not the same. Seems like they bought them and reselling them. They had the best doughnuts at the shore. Very disappointing. That was the reason I went there for the past 5 years. Guess I’ll have to find a new bakery.

Spent about 10 days down in Ortley Beach and Lavallette in the last three weeks and Fumosa Brothers Bakery was my bakery to go to. Went numerous times for morning rolls, donuts and coffee. Everything was excellent and all the girls behind the counter were very friendly and polite. Yesterday bought a large (Over 12″) turkey, provolone hero which was well made and worth the money. I wish they were up here in Bergen County. Thanks for everything and see you guys next summer.

The best bakery on the Island!!! BUT bad business ethic. I ordered on Sunday a pie for Thanksgiving. Picked it up without opening the box. Why would I??? Open box after dinner (4 people so looking forward to coconut custard pie} and low and behold it’s Pumpkin!! The disappointed on our faces made me feel bad. We ate half the pie. I returned to the bakery with the rest of the pie to explain that I was not mad but seriously disappointed. The owner offered me a danish. The previous owner would have made it right and given me a coconut custard pie then and there. Bad business in my opinion. Moral of story: open your order before you leave. As for myself. I am going to find a bakery as good in another town.

Bread was very, very good. Danish was above average, donuts were okay but not as good as local rival Park Bakery. Plenty of staff so no waiting in line, a bit on the expensive side as a dozen donuts and a Danish came to $17.75 ($20 with tip). Selection wasn’t the greatest either among baked goods. Definitely not a 5 star bakery, but above average, hence, **** 4 stars, above average.
