Easily one of the top 3 restaurants in all of Ames, no question. The quality of the food here is top notch. The staff is friendly, responsive, and very orderly and clean. The atmosphere is super cool too. Definitely a solid place to go for a date, birthday, or other special occasion.

Great experience and great food! Thank you Ido for your service, you were super kind and friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and very friendly staff looking out for their customers even on a busy day like Valentines day and a game day! We will be coming back !! Thank you for the food! The steak and filet mignon were perfectly medium rare and melted in the mouth.

Great place with amazing service, the sushi was quite good and probably the best sushi around here I just didn’t feel it was 5 star quality sushi. But the atmosphere was amazing, with creative decorations and a great vibe and the service was also phenomenal. Should definitely go here if you’re looking for sushi in the area.

My family and I have been a returning customer for years at this location. Over the years I noticed the staff changed tremendously. Why I don’t know and I don’t care to know. The last 7 months have been a dissapointment to us. We have been there atleast 3 times and the FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! There is no other way I can say this. Here it is I go from being a 3 times a week customer to a once every 2 to 3 months customer. This is very sad because I will not be returning back to this establishment for food!!!! I have given the new cooks a chance and they have no passion for cooking its as if they doing it because it’s their job!!! The freindliness of the cooks have left!!!! I’m very sad but I can’t keep waisting my money on food I can’t even eat!!!

Could not get hibachi grill, reservations needed decoded to dine in anyway.
Did not get enough menus/utensils and had to get up and ask for more. Japanese noodle soup my son enjoyed and the other seafood soup was good, per my other son. My children were served and finished their meal. After 15 min I inquired about mine and nothing. I decided to cancel as I wanted to eat with my family and not have them watch me eat, as my kids were done. I was no longer hungry and they brought it out when I was canceling. Decided I just wanted the scallops for my son. They took the plate back to the kitchen and returned with cold rubber scallops 10 min later. No manager came, nobody checked in on us and still charged for the cold rubbery scallops. Disappointed for the almost the 2 hrs it took to get the food we did get.

Had a 4 pm reservation for the hibachi on Valentine’s Day – wanted to get in early. Was seated right away, and it took 15 minutes to get waited on for water and food orders. 50 – 55 minutes for the hibachi chef to come out – all the tables were getting full and no chefs were cooking. During the wait time, 25 minutes after we ordered, people at our table that had ordered alcoholic beverages were told the bar was closed. Those that had ordered regular food got theirs within 15 minutes; sushi took almost 40 minutes. No one came to check on us in the meantime. Food was decent. Would go back, but but might pack a snack for kids in my purse.

The hibachi grill is really cool and our kids enjoyed the experience. Eating in, I noticed the the place is falling short on cleanliness and good air flow – the vents are running but not well enough to keep the hibachi smoke from being in our faces most of the time, requiring my family member to move positions to breathe. Staff was very nice and courteous.

I’ll start by saying the staff were wonderful with the kids.
No major issues with the food, flavor-wise. Our rice had a funny almost-burnt taste to it.

Now…

We went in tonight at 5 for dinner. We ordered a children’s steak hibachi, a children’s shrimp hibachi, a children’s order of chicken nuggets & fries, and an adult’s steak hibachi. We had 2 kids sprites, an adult soda, and a virgin strawberry blended drink. We were also told that the June special was birthdays, and because we had two to celebrate, we’d be receiving 10% off our check (we didn’t).

Somehow, our bill was $107. I brought up to the wait staff that we were being charged for 3 adult hibachi meals and that this was incorrect. 3 different staff were brought to the register, and not one of them would fix our bill. We were very disappointed and we will unfortunately not be back.

Took at least 20 minutes after half our party went to the car to get out bill. Literally just left cash on the eating area and walked out eventually. This was after I had asked for the bill and to go boxes from a waiter that wasn’t mine and our waiter brought out to go boxes where I had asked for my bill again. Decent food but will likly not return, our water def got a bigger tup than earned because we were tired of waiting and didn’t want to dine and dash
