We’re biased as we know the owners, but we love Fuji! The sushi is quite decent for the Midwest and the ramen, tempura and starters are all pretty good. Definitely worth a try. I get the sashimi every time. Just tried the sashimi lunch and I really enjoyed it. Ice cream mochi for dessert! Yummy!

This is definitely the best sushi place in the area, and I’m so glad to have found this place. Their sweet potato tempura roll is very good, and we also had the Dream Roll. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other delicious looking items on their extensive menu. Great service, fresh ingredients and affordable prices for what you get.

Good place for sushi, tempura, and a few udon soup options.
Decent prices for the quality.
The waitress was nice.
The bathroom had an odd smell, though.

Decent sushi for Portage.
The was the miso Soup! Wow! Seriously, some of the best.
The banana desert was beyond what we expected. Definitely try it! Great price for a dessert that’s sharable!

Fuji Japanese Restaurant in Portage, located in the Commons on Rt 6.
This was my second visit, the first with the Mrs for our date night.
Either she was being ultra agreeable or we were really on the same page as we both were thinking just going with one of their standard “Party Trays”. “B” version being the one she left up to me after consulting and getting informed by our server who was GREAT BTW!
The Party Tray B comes with a combination of 4 standard rolls and 24 pieces of nigiri style sushi. All for a VERY reasonable price point (the best I’ve seen outside of A.Y.C.E.) It was all quite good, the Mrs. is more comfortable with the rolls but still tried most of the nigiri, except the shrimp. We also added the Seaweed Salad which is quite sizeable and again the best price I’ve seen, especially considering the large portion, it too was very good! Almost ice cold and very well seasoned.
So if Japanese sushi is in your box, for the money, based on our experience, I’d have to put it at #1 on the list.

Service was good. Food was good. I tried the california dream roll. Prayerfully I got the name right. It was four types I tried. One had jalapeño. The other had mango. And the last one was fried shrimp

Really good & very reasonably priced sushi. Huge menu with lots of options. Seafood soup itself was worth going back for & bringing extra home for later. Salmon dinner for two was perfect to bring home for my daughter. A new favorite stop on my way home from the Indiana Dunes. Will be going again!

Second time me and my friend have ate here. I ordered the indiana and california roll. The first time was a godzilla roll. Food came out exceptionally fast both times. Waitress is always on her game when it comes to refills. I’ve tried a different roll every time I went and I’ve never been let down. Everything here is SUPER fresh. This place is on par with higher end sushi places at a lower cost. Don’t hesitate give this place a chance

Super friendly service! Fresh delicious sushi. Will be coming here more often for my sushi cravings. Absolutely delicious! Our waitress made sure we knew what certain items were when we were having trouble! 5/5!

The sushi menu looks great, but i usually prefer an entree. Entrees are fine, but nothing to write home about. Still its a good place to go, i usually go here when we go to the movie theater down the road.
