Some called it a “hidden gem in Forest Park” and “the best”, but Forest Park’s Fuji Grill Sushi & More, 315 Harlem Ave., is no more.

June 2018 update:
Thanks for the excellent meals Chef Stefano. Fuji Grill will be sorely missed. We hope to hear good news about your future endeavors.
Original review:
I’m rarely compelled to submit a review, but Fuji Grill has earned my praise. Straight to the point, the food was excellent. The quality of the sushi was some of the best I’ve had around Chicago. The fish was fresh and presented beautifully on the plate. I’m having difficulty describing the quality, texture, and flavor because it was simply leaps and bounds better than so many other Japanese restaurants I’ve tried. I ordered the Sushi Regular combo and every piece featured melted in my mouth and left me wanting more. The size of each piece was on the generous side and I probably looked like a pig when I stuffed them in my face.
I will most definitely return to Fuji Grill. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and service. I would highly recommend the pork goyoza, Sushi Regular combo, and the warm house sake. The tempura also looked and smelled appealing.
Don’t be turned off by the appearance of Fuji Grill from the outside. It’s situated in a nondescript strip mall that I passed countless times before even realizing it was there. If you like sushi you should enjoy Fuji Grill. It’s hard to believe the hype that the overwhelmingly positive reviews show, but it is warranted.
Thanks for reading.

Fuji grill went well Beyond my expectations! The food was spectacular and Chef Stafano is a stand up dude and very personable. He started us out with some jalapeño poppers that he created with some Japanese flair, on the house. Everything was so fresh and flavorful.
I am planning on visiting again soon. And to reiterate a lot of the previous reviews, you can’t find better sushi in Chicago for that price.

This is the BEST sushi place I’ve been to in Chicago. Reasonable cost, cozy and intimate atmosphere, whether at a table or the counter. The master/owner is very welcoming, and they always have polite, courteous staff. The downside is that they are located in a strip mall off Harlem, but I can’t count that against them. The world is transformed the moment you walk through the doors.

Excellent sushi and appetizers. My wife and I have come here a few times and both times they didn’t disappoint. The Tuna poppers are our favorite! Highly recommend for a date night.

Nothing special here. Nice environment but the food was average. Dumplings as other tempura food we ordered had a bad grease flavor. Veggies were soaked in oil. California roll and chicken/rice were good.

The California rolls were good but I was SO disappointed in the quality and preparation on the so-called teriyaki chicken! It was bland, pale, seasoned worth only salt and pepper then doused in bottled sauce
Fuji grill does not grill it’s meat, only pan fry.

My go to spot for sushi in forest park. Always very fresh tasting. The past two times we’ve gone, they brought out a small bite/appetizer from the sushi chef on the house. Really delicious!
