Trays of barbecue with homestyle sides turned out in an industrial-style space with a lighted patio.

Got a chance to stop in to Fuel this weekend when my parents came to town. We’d been wanting to try it for a while so we went all out.
Staff was friendly and provided recommendations for sides. Our order included a full rack of ribs and half chicken. The meats came with cornbread and we grabbed six sides: potato salad, coleslaw, green beans with bacon, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and bbq beans.
It’s hard to decide our favorite because all were delicious. The Mac and cheese & bbq beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. The ribs were cooked to perfection and fall off the bone good. I really enjoyed the sauces as well. The mustard sauce and sweet sauce are very nice compliments to the meat.
The space is very cool – connected to a bar – so you could sit in the restaurant, in the bar or outside on the patio.
Very cool spot – I’m very impressed. Will definitely be back to try more.

Came in for lunch and it was great! Brisket was great as well as the pulled pork! I had “The Bus Stop” which was great and the smoked Mac and cheese was great as well! Nice staff and clean restaurant!

Ended up stopping at this spot because we wanted barbecue for lunch and found this on the map. We saw a good reviews and they definitely don’t lie. Frank and Caitlynne treat you like You’re a Gaston their home. She made the banana pudding fresh from scratch and it was absolutely amazing so you have to get it if you’re a banana fan.

Wonderful little BBQ shop in beautiful downtown Sanford, FL. I got the mini servings of the brisket and burnt ends. I like that on many levels. Not only was the meat very tasty, it was just enough to enjoy both and not feel stuffed. It was also reasonable. The sides were good sized and excellent flavors. Hearty beans, moist and cheesy Mac, and a creamy and crunch slaw that had the perfect vinegar bite. Prices were reasonable and very cool patio and inside eating options. I saw the other sides people had and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Great location and venue with outdoor seating as well as a space with indoor stage and sizable bar. A great context for hanging out and enjoying music, people, and the weather. It is not a destination for foodies. The pulled chicken and pulled pork were both very dry and lacked any hint of flavor. Would not order either of those again or come for the bbq. Unfortunately the food lived up to the name and really only served as fuel.

Lovely fast tray of fantastic ribs, cornbread and fries. Great smokiness and bark on the St Louis style ribs.
Has drinks fountain of Coke sodas and Lipton lemonades
Well worth a visit. We visited as an emergency dinner late on a Sunday evening, after other plans fell thru and time was limited.
Will definitely revisit sortly when we have more time to spend

Not bad for a BBQ joint. I had the bus stop, and my wife had the 1/2 slab of ribs (Gloria even quality-checked them and sent old ones to the back). The food was tasty, and as always, the sauces were different but good for what they were. We went in at 3 pm. We had just got off a plane, so no one was there. Service was fast, and Gloria and the guy from the back were very friendly. Stop in for some good BBQ if you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed

There are plenty of BBQ places in the area and I have eaten at most of them. Fuel is the best by far, their tasty meats and sides are sure to please. The ribs, pulled pork or chicken, brisket, burnt ends are all good. That smoked mac and cheese is smokin’. After getting your feed on visit The Alley next door for libations and if later in day live music as well.

The atmosphere makes this appear to be a promising venue. There are plenty of outdoor seats and a small indoor area, with the main cashier/ordering center inside of this cool garage door entrance. The theme was a bit steam-punk, and with a small select menu, I expected this to be absolutely amazing. Focusing all their attention on the few items they offer.
But – It was just okay. The portion of protein was smaller than I expected for a BBQ joint. I mean, usually if you’re ordering BBQ, you expect a feast. The meat was tender but dry. I’m not a sauce person, but the sweet sauce definitely helped elevated the appeal of the pulled pork. My husband got the chicken, which had a lot of grisle. I understand the portions are by weight, but that seems unfair when parts of it are inedible.
I hoped to try the Mac and cheese, but I didn’t want to pay an upcharge for that side. The fries I got were freshly fried and tasted great.
