Me and my best friend went here for a girls date and we both agreed this place is a 100/10. Food was off the charts, so much flavor and taste. The quality of everything is worth the price you pay. The service was outstanding. Our waiter did everything he could to make our experience an amazing one and he did such a great job! I highly recommend!! The restaurant was so beautiful, the owners really put everything into this place. I cant wait to come back!

My family and I dined in at Fu-O tonight and it was an incredible experience! The restaurant looked absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious!!

For appetizers we got the baked oysters (my favorite), rock shrimp (perfect tempura fried, crispy and light), spicy chicken wings (comes with a creamy dipping sauce), croquettes, and the corn cheese butter. 10/10!

For our dinner we ordered a combo set for 4 people, which came with filet, ny strip, short rib, chicken, beef tongue, shrimp, scallop, pork belly, veggies, rice, and salad w/ sesame dressing. Absolutely phenomenal!! The cuts were perfect for grilling and their house made sauces paired so well with it all (I also dipped my meats in the bbq/chili powder that was on the table)!! My bf got the omelet rice and devoured the entire bowl, it was that good! But, my favorite part of the meal was the wagyu steak. We grilled each piece for a few seconds on each side and dipped them in just a little bit of salt, and it was perfect!

We finished off with a chocolate layer cake that was so decadent and rich, and I had a blueberry lemon mocktail that was lovely!!

The owner checked on us herself, which added a nice personal touch to the already amazing service! Highly recommend this new spot and I will definitely be back with more people!

We had the tuna sashimi, seaweed salad, and “love for two” special. The meat is great quality, and you cook the food at your table. I particularly enjoyed the dark meat chicken and the short rib. This place has great ambiance for a date night or just a special night out.

The service was slow the night we went, but I’d be curious to come back and hopefully try the dessert too. The drinks were amazing – I’d recommend the matcha martini

I didn’t plan to go out tonight but on the way home I decided to stop by for a drink, and thanks to the bartender Joey along with some staff who were able to provide some suggestions I had a wonderful night. From the food, to the drinks, to the service; everything was wonderful and absolutely worth the time/money I spent. If you sit at the bar, Joey is your best friend and will make sure you get exactly what you want/crave. I highly recommend this new spot and hope you have a good time like I did.

I fully understand it was Valentine’s Day and the bar was backed up. Busy nights happen. What I did not expect was to unknowingly audition for Chopped Tabletop Edition where the secret ingredient is ***fire hazard***.

They sat six adults at one grill. ONE. GRILL. Realistically, that setup works for four people, not six. There was no cover, no non-stick prep just raw flame with a grate. Food kept catching on fire, and at least twice we nearly got burned from flare ups and burning residue left on the grill. We ended up scraping the grill ourselves like we were part of the kitchen staff. If I wanted to work here, I would’ve asked for an apron and a W2.

Drinks? A scavenger hunt. Our table drinks were never refilled unless we specifically asked, and even then refills and bar drinks took about 20 minutes each time. I ran out of my drink early and it wasn’t refilled until I asked ant the end. Apparently hydration is a BYO situation here.

Now let’s talk about the rice, because this part deserves its own paragraph. We were told the small bowl of rice was for the whole table because they were running low. That bowl was maybe two cups of rice total, and that’s being generous, for six people. SIX. PEOPLE. I’m sorry, but when you’re paying around $250 for two people (our table was about $800 total), being told we’re running out of rice is wild. That’s not an upscale dining experience, that’s rationing.

I’ve been to plenty of Korean BBQ spots, so I know what this experience is supposed to look like. This was, by far, the worst one I’ve ever been to. Between the grill setup that felt like a liability waiver waiting to happen, the slow and inconsistent service, and portions that required negotiation, the entire experience did not match the price point.

I don’t expect perfection on a holiday. I do expect not to need fire-resistant clothing and a game plan for acquiring rice. Unfortunately, Fu O BBQ missed the mark in every way that mattered for me, and I won’t be going back.

I am honest with you to write a review as a Japanese who moved here a few years ago.

This is more like “Americanized” Japanese BBQ. Staff members were nice, meat was soft and delicious, atmosphere was more like bar-ish.
We were 2 men and 2 female party and ordered one appetizer, beef tongue, and B1 combination and some drinks. It was enough amount for us. (Total was $300 ish)

What we got was more like “steak” based meat, not like Japanese yakiniku style. (Japanese ones are thinly sliced meat like a quarter inch thin) but quality of food was great.

I have one concern. The restaurant is dimly lit, so when I ate meat/seafood, I couldn’t see if they were fully cocked or not clearly. I noticed some were undercooked right before eating. They serve chicken, pork and seafood, Grilling yourself is the point of Japanese BBQ so please make sure if it fully cocked.

Tonight we went to Fu O for my husband’s birthday and this has probably been my favorite dining experience since living in Nexton. The service was outstanding, and the food just as good. Such high quality cuts of meat, and you get so much food. This was the best birthday dinner, and we are definitely going to come back. The restaurant kept checking in with us, multiple employees, and made sure we were happy. The staff went the extra mile to make sure my husband truly had a great birthday. Highly recommend!

Fu-O BBQ was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious from start to finish, and the wait staff was truly amazing, attentive, friendly, and welcoming. My family has known the owner, Jing, for years, and she came over to our table right away and checked in on us multiple times. Her hospitality is unmatched and really makes the experience feel special. Fu-O BBQ is definitely going to be a staple in the Nexton community. Highly recommend!
