This place serves the best chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. The spicy honey butter option feels like a dream pick for a final meal. Seasoned fries bring serious flavor.

Chicken sandwich is incredible but the fries are consistently not warm. They need to make them more often or get better heaters for already made fries. The fries are amazing when they freshly make them but if you go in and get unlucky you might get a not so hot batch.

Fry the Coop will always hold a special place in our hearts, it’s where my husband and I went on our very first date, so it only felt right to stop by the Elmhurst location with our wedding party for a pre-reception meal! The experience was beyond amazing. The manager and staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, they truly went above and beyond to make our visit special.
The food (of course) was delicious as always, but it was the genuine warmth and hospitality from the Elmhurst team that made it unforgettable. They made one of our favorite places even more meaningful on our wedding day.

Thank you so much to the amazing manager and the entire Elmhurst Fry the Coop crew that helped coordinate, serve and celebrate us that day! you’ll forever be part of our love story!

I’ve been a loyal fan of Fry the Coop since the early days of the Oak Lawn and Prospect Heights locations. Back then, the food was consistently fresh, flavorful, and something I’d look forward to daily. Unfortunately, my recent experience was a complete letdown and far from what Fry the Coop used to be. The chicken I received was burnt, thin, and lacked any of the signature flavor that once set this place apart. The presentation was poor, and it seemed like little effort was made to ensure the meal was warm or appetizing for the customer.
I’m only writing this review in hopes that management takes this as constructive feedback to revisit the quality control and standards that made Fry the Coop great in the first place. It’s disappointing to see such a huge drop in quality from a restaurant that used to be elite.

Didn’t realize it had been 6 years since I stopped in. It was Nashville Hot Chicken Day and they were offering their lil happiness sandwich for $5. Line was very long and wasn’t moving very quickly. Only had one staff member doing the job of 3 people at the register. He did mention a 25 minute wait for food after I paid. Had already been 20 minutes in line, so I was committed for another 25 minutes to get food. I didn’t notice they had burned the bun. But it definitely changed the taste and made it an overpowering flavor. I did enjoy the potato salad which was recently praised on a news segment. Just about every table was dirty. Trash can was overflowing, another sign they don’t have enough employees. With nine locations it’s likely difficult keeping staff that really care about their quality. I had to pretty up the presentation of the sandwich before a picture. Half the coleslaw wasn’t on the sandwich and the chicken patty was hanging off the sandwich.

Service is great!
Food was good.

The Cole slaw was so bland and no flavor!!!
KFC is still better!

Takes a long time to get your food.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches and fries! I got their classic sandwich with the country style heat. Definitely not too spicy and super yummy. Also ordered their messy fries which were super tasty as well! A lot of food for 2 people or under but well worth the leftovers. Can’t wait to visit another spot!

I’ve had a lot of Nashville chicken, including in Nashville and Fry the Coop is hands down the best Nashville chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. PERIOD!!! I have been eating at the Elmhurst location for years. They used to have amazing mac and cheese before they changed the recipe, I’m hoping they bring the OG version back. If you haven’t tried it, you are genuinely missing out one the best sandwich experiences out there.
