The Frontier Restaurant and Bar est. 1946 is a family friendly, casual fine dining restaurant with a rustic atmosphere. Although we don’t call ourselves a steak house The Frontier is known for its hand-cut Prime Angus steaks, slow roasted Prime Rib as well delicious Southern fried chicken, hand-pattied burgers, deluxe sandwiches and a large selection delicious entrees. The Frontier offers a full bar with an extensive beer and spirits selection, games and karaoke on week nights and weekends and live music events are held thru out the year. We offer seasonal outdoor seating and pets are welcome in our outdoor area. Food and/or liquor catering also available for your special event!

We were very disappointed with our experience at Frontier. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, and none of our food was served hot. My gumbo was so cold I couldn’t eat it, and my mom had to send her burger back because it was prepared incorrectly — and the meat was still tough.
The appetizer portion was much smaller than advertised in the picture and the manager was not accommodating when we raised concerns. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and we won’t be returning.
I don’t like to complain but the whole experience was disappointing. I wanna add the waitress was very nice. And it was not her fault. We had a bad experience. The manager had a chance to make it right, but she didn’t.

Food was very different the stake tasted not like stake it was way too herbal tasting my drink i ordered could not drink it when I asked to make it sweeter she just looked at me weird I had to tell them how to it did not taste like a mixed drink and they can only make like 6 kinds this was our first time eating here and it was not a good first time staff was very friendly food was just over done and not a pleasant taste. My old man and his friend ordered the 30$ stake each they could not finish it. We got potatoes skins way over cooked my salad was OK.

What a great dinner! We stopped in for dinner on our way through heading toward Madison. The parkinglot was packed so we figured it must be good. They had a patio table available and told us we could bring our dogs with us. The staff was all super friendly and the service was amazing. The pretzels with cheese dip were a great way to start our meal. My husband had the fried catfish and I had the parmesan chicken with their homemade chips. The food was so flavorful!

Four stars for the fried chicken. The staff was great! The pork chop was ok. Trivia night was fun. The three amigos will take the next round. The restrooms were cleaner this time. No wait, and the prices were reasonable. I’d go back.

Ordered 1/4 dark meat chicken. Size of the pieces of chicken were so small. I asked waitress if it were a pigeon. Table next to mine had mixed 1/4 the breast was smaller than a chicken thigh. wish I would have taken photos. Flavor was good that’s what 1 star is for.

I stopped by the Frontier while passing through southern Indiana area. I was looking for a nice restaurant with southern charm. I found it. I had the large prime rib. Awesome. Baked potato was cooked just right for prime rib. And the fried pickles were outstanding. However, the best part was my waitress. I sat in the bar area. I swear she could read my mind. I wanted for nothing. Thank you. Very nice place. Keep up the good work. Dean

We had Frontier serve as the bartenders for our wedding reception and cannot recommend them enough. They were timely, great at communicating, and did an excellent job throughout the entire process. Could not recommend them enough!

Service was ok. It was moderately busy but it did take over 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after we were seated. Both floor servers passed by our table during that time. One could have at least said they would be with us soon or something. Just an opinion.
The classic burger for $10 was the only disappointing part. It was extremely small even for being stated it was 1/4 lb pre cooked.
Fried chicken was ok but not overly impressive.
The pulled pork sandwich was the best of the 3 meals. I do enjoy it and it is priced fairly to me.
Server did a nice job after we were greeted. Kept our drinks full.
