First of all let me say, I HATE leaving negative reviews. In this case I have no choice but to leave 1 star.

This was our 2nd time here. 1st time the experience was OK but they were out of the first 3 things we tried to order but what we did end up with was passable and enough to give it a other try.

Tonight it started off bad and went to worse. We stood at the hostess stand waiting to either be seated. There was a bartender and 4 patrons at the bar mere steps away who we could clearly see and who could clearly see us but no one greeted us. After about 2 minutes I asked the bartender if we can just sit anywhere. She said yes so we took a booth. Close to 15 minutes went by and no one came to the table. We were literally in the process of gathering our things to leave when the bar tender came and apologized saying “I had a drink order and I have no idea what I’m doing.” She was the only staff member in the bar and dining room. Which was fine because aside from the 4 bar patrons my husband and myself were the only 2 people there. I wish we had made the decision to leave 10 seconds sooner because we could have escaped the situation which was about to unfold.

My husband asked what is the best beer there and she said and I quote “we are out of all the good ones”. So the only beer they had left is no good? Being out of menu items seems to be the theme of this place.

We both ordered 1/2 lb burgers cooked medium. When the food arrived my burger was not even a 1/4 lb – no more than 3″ across and thin as a cracker. My husband’s was much larger. I asked the server if mine was the 1/2lb. She looked like a deer in the headlights and said “I dont know.” I then asked if it was a frozen burger patty because it looked terrible. She said no. They are made fresh. OK fine. I took it at face value. We are extremely laid back, patient people so I just accepted my tiny burger as long as I wasn’t being charged for the larger one. She came back & said she has accidentally entered mine as the smaller burger & apologized stating the guys at the bar were giving her a hard time. I said “no problem. This one is fine.”

However that was a lie. It was not fine. Far from it. Both our burgers were burnt & as dry as the aforementioned cracker. How the cook managed to over cook 2 burgers to the exact same degree of hockey puck when one was 1/2 the size of the other is a real feat. Not a single drop of juice, grease or flavor to be found. Honestly the worse burger I have ever had. And I’ve eaten out of a dumpster behind Carl’s Jr. before.

We said nothing to the server because she looked completely overwhelmed and on the verge of a break down and I don’t want to send her off the deep end so we just accepted our fate. My husband made the joke “at least they can’t mess up a salad.”

Oh, but they can. My house salad was lettuce and a mound of shaved carrots. No tomatoes, no croutons, no cheese, and my ranch dressing was what tasted and appeared to be little more than sour cream with something possibly approaching ranch seasoning but not enough to taste like ranch dressing. I took one bite and pushed it aside.

In the 6 years my husband and I have been together I can’t recall a time I have ever seen him not clean his plate. Until today. He didnt even eat half his burger. I choked down 2 bites of mine and could do no more. We brought the salad home to use the lettuce for the BLTs we ended up making for dinner when we got home.

I will say the blooming onion was great. If the other food & service had been as good this would be a 5 star review.

The fact that this place is running out of menu items all the time implies there are customers coming in to eat the food. It seems hard to believe there are any folks left willing to come here.

I don’t understand why one would choose to go into the restaurant business if they have so little care for guest experience and food quality and cannot properly cook even a humble burger.

I always root for the underdog but Sadly, I don’t think this place will be around much longer.

I went to their soft opening yesterday night. The food was amazing. I ordered the soft pretzel and onion bloom to start. Then I had the mozzarella sandwich and fries for dinner. They had a couple vegetarian things on the menu so that was nice. I also tried the Paul Bunyan beer and it was really good. The service was attentive and friendly, we got checked on numerous times during our visit. The staff made sure to keep the drinks flowing. This place is going to be something special.

I went to the mermaid gala From Huron Out Pub hosted and I was blown away by how beautiful the decorations were. The food was amazing and I was happy to see they had vegan-friendly options. The people were very helpful, warm, and welcoming.

I had originally rated Huron Out very high when we went in for the first time months ago. Tonight we were very disappointed.

We ordered takeout. Two burgers, one with FF and one with onion rings. The French fries were more like potato wedges. They tasted good, but super greasy. The onion rings were very thick, like 4 inches. I will insert a picture. Very greasy as well. Not like normal grease from deep fried food. The burgers were okay. Very charred and that took over the whole burgers flavor. The bacon we had on it was chewy and leather like. The lettuce on my burger was brown.

We also ordered the pretzels. In the description it said it comes with beer cheese. It did not come with beer cheese. Only the mustard dip.

I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (which wasn’t hot, but nice flavor), slaw was great. I didn’t think I could finish it all but was so good I didn’t want to put it down. My hubby had a hamburger which is fresh ground and you can tell they are formed by hand and definitely not a frozen patty. Hamburger meat was juicy and flavorful, but patty was quite thick and could have been a bit thinner to fill out the bun. But still very good! Menu is expanding as they get their feet wet and staff up. They now have breakfast, so will try that soon. Glad to have this option in Oscoda area back open with quality food!

Had a great first experience at Huron Out! Started the night with painting hosted by Queen Bee Soirée and then came to the dining part and the owner, Kelly, took great care of making sure our food was delicious and was very engaging.

More people should come out and find this place. We really enjoyed the beer, the smoked wings, and the Reuben which was amazing. The wait staff and the owner were attentive and very sweet. We were shocked at how affordable it was for the quality and quantity of food. Hopefully more folks come out to support a great place! We’ll be back!

What a great find! First and foremost, the food. The Dirty Reuben is probably the best reuben I’ve ever had. The smokiness of the corned beef is subtle but clear, and the tenderness of the slow cooking lets it melt in your mouth. Fantastic. And so was everything else I had in my two visits. Onion rings the size of a softball, perfectly crunchy and juicy. Fried chicken with legit Nashville heat. Fresh poke packed with flavor. And huge portions.

The beer’s outstanding as well, and made in-house, always a plus. And it’s not just beer, they’ve got an awesome selection of ciders and a full bar if that’s your thing.

The vibe is old school, intentionally, and it’s awesome, just what you’d pick to go with the atmosphere created by the owners, who’ve done a great job keeping this landmark going while expanding its range of offerings to meet modern tastes.

I’d go back here any day. Thanks for taking care of me and all my buddies while we visited town, you guys rock!

First time here, I have wanted to see what the fuss was about. I ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer (phenomenal)and the olive burger (really good). I think I found my new favorite restaurant.

Loved it! I’m a vegetarian and I’m always excited when there is a creative and delicious vegetarian option. This had a few choices. I had the vegan Thai peanut curry over vegetables and rice. The sauce was great and there was a nice assortment of fresh and perfectly cooked veggies. My husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and he loved it. The homemade chips are great. Be sure to get a home-brewed root beer!! The staff are so nice and friendly. Great service. Great meal.
