Was a beautiful train car and comfortable atmosphere, the flavors were lacking when it come to Cajun food, I ordered the chicken po-boy with blackened shrimp for a surf n turf sandwich, the shrimp was delicious but the rest was bland, my side was red beans and rice and both were flavor less and not a hint of Cajun flavors. I frequent New Orleans quite a bit and was excited for something close to home that I could enjoy those amazing flavors from the bayou. But they were lacking all the way around. They didn’t have gumbo on a Friday afternoon. Which was disappointing, the fries were the right cut of potatoes but over seasoned with black pepper, the kids and grandkids didn’t want them. I was so excited that I ignored the prices and went for it, but when the food arrived, that’s all I could think of… (paying this much for that!) definitely won’t be coming back here. If you’re looking for those memories of being in Louisiana you won’t find them here. I feel bad for the waitress, she wrote everything down very legibly and repeated everything back to us with precision but the food came back from the kitchen incorrect. We didn’t complain, it wasn’t busy. We collectively thought this is one and done.

An unexpected gem in a small town. We had a truly exceptional meal in an old railroad dining car. Great ambiance.
