We met up with some friends and had a very nice Sunday brunch at Frigate’s Waterfront restaurant in Melbourne. Tables inside do fill up, so if the weather is bad, you may want to consider the bar area in the lower level as it is covered.

We were instantly greeted upon arrival and the view for the outdoor seating was spectacular. This was my first time here, but my mother had been here before and highly recommended it. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they had beef carpaccio, one of my favorite menu items that had recently been removed from another restaurant we used to frequent for our mother-daughter outings. Delightfully paired with the lamb lollipops and followed by a round of oysters, we were very pleased with the selection and service.

First time here and I love this place! The setting is beautiful and the service is exceptional. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for drinks. They had an adequate variety of local draft beers. Wanting to stay, we ordered the Smoked Fish Dip. It was delicious and there was plenty of it. They have a full liquor bar and lots of specialty drinks. And check out the bar! It looks like a classic Chris Craft boat. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP DATE. But we’ve already planned our next visit because it’s worth it.

First time here and what an amazing surprise! The place is beautiful and the food was great. The staff was super attentive and professional. We tried several dishes and everything was excellent. I’ve always been a huge fan of Frigate’s. It’s my favorite secret in Melbourne 🙂 We had our engagement dinner at Frigate’s in July and it was an absolutely perfect venue for the small event. Christina and her team were amazing in helping to orchestrate the surprise, and created a buffet-style menu catered to our budget and headcount. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the food was DELICIOUS (as always). It was a perfect place for a perfect night!!!

Difficult to get into small parking lot from road, only to learn it’s Valet parking only for them to park my car in an empty space in front of me. Going inside met by 3 young women who would rather be anywhere else but there, and sat down a flight of steps over looking river. Close to other tables and people, took forever for a server, then forever to order and even longer for a simple lunch item that was delivered without condiments or silverware.

My server was excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The wagyu burger was exquisite and I also enjoyed the Cuban avocado salad. I got the sauce on the side for the wings and of course the wings had absolutely no seasoning which was annoying considering how high the prices are here but most places rely on the sauce as seasoning so I’m not surprised. Overall a positive experience and love the outdoor seating by the water.
