We were super excited to finally visit Fried Pie Co, a Gainesville tradition since 1982. It is a quaint spot on the historic Gainesville square. Of course we had to try the breakfast pie! I was served a warm brown pie and was disappointed when the second bite was into a combination of ice crystals and frozen eggs. The remedy of the staff was to microwave the pies. Now I had a breakfast pie that was 3,000 degrees and the ice crystals created a tasteless egg mash.
The staff was sure friendly with lots of greetings though they are slow and not as attentive as we would expect from a neighborhood spot. The sweet potato hashbrowns are good and we are still willing to go back and try something else on the menu…but unfortunately we can NOT recommend the breakfast pie!

Quaint little restaurant in downtown Gainesville with a simply crafted menu executed to perfection. The interior has been fixed up well, and has some beautiful accent pieces. The food came out quick, hot, and delicious. The fried pies? Holy s—t. So good.
Absolutely worth the stop in here, inexpensive but good food. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Staff is very accommodating! Even though one employee was holding down the floor, she was working her butt off. Great place, will definitely come back.

Not really ratable. Fried pies are wonderful! Food plated nicely yet, the quality, inferior and was served cold. My fiance and I weren’t asked if we enjoyed our meal or we would have been tactful yet brutally honest. We thought to be classy just pay and never to return.

What a gem! My husband loves their fried pies especially the chocolate. The cherry and peach pies were delicious. Friendly staff, saw I was taking a photo of my husband on the bench out front and came out and offered to take our photo together. Definitely a unique place!

This place was very average. Food is mostly frozen and then fried or heated. Didn’t taste terrible but wasn’t fresh. Service was very average. No energy or friendliness in this small town restaurant. Fried pies weren’t as good as the nearby competing fried pie company. I’ve had both. These did not taste as good. Dough for the pies was not tasty. Don’t plan to return next time I travel through. Try something else.

The service here was a little slow, and we had no idea who our actual server was because ever server in the place came to our table at least once. That being said the food was decent, and the pies were delicious. The only real snag was that we were allowed to order pies, and then they came back several times to tell us that they didn’t have what we wanted. It would have been nice to hear all at once that they had run out of some flavors. Yes, we still would have been disappointed, but it likely would have frustrated us less. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Gainesville. If they have the pie you like, you’ll be glad you did.

The pies are still good but overpriced. The restaurant has changed ownership, and the food quality has declined dramatically. Under former ownership, soup and salad bar was always wonderful. Now it’s barely edible with a small selection of items. Unless the locals keep this business going, it is doomed. Buy your pies to go and skip the breakfast or lunch.
