Went here for the first time today. The restaurant was beautiful. Gorgeous paintings of Frida Kahlo. And just an overall good ambiance here. The service was great. The food was excellent and came out hot with melty cheese and my drink was delicious. I would recommend 10/10! The food was authentic and just tasted fresh. Our waiter was adorable and he was awesome. I will definitely come back.

We’ve always passed Frida’s on our way to South Haven and commented on how cute the restaurant is, and we finally decided to check it out. We were not disappointed: the food was very tasty and came out fairly quickly, despite the restaurant being busy. I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail and the taco salad. Our server was so wonderful and personable, and he made great food suggestions. We loved eating outdoors—the patio is nice, and the pillows on the chairs made it very comfortable.

Frida’s Cantina is super yummy. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It’s a bright blue building with green metal painted cacti out front. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was authentic Mexican fare with options for other items if you aren’t interested (but nobody leaves a Mexican restaurant unhappy). The drinks are good too. We had mojitos and margaritas. Th tacos are good too and you can mix and match ala carte if you want. There is a patio deck for outdoor dining and they have occasional live music too. Enjoy Frida’s. It’s worth a stop.

A friend of mine recommended Frida’s Cantina so we decided to head there for lunch. He recommended the Alabama white pizza, which is essentially a pizza with pulled pork and Alabama white bbq sauce as the base instead of marinara. The pizza was alright, but I think I would have rather just had pulled pork with the sauce to dip it in than have it on a pizza. I decided to try the steak tacos as well, which while costly, tasted pretty good. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. They have kind of an odd variety of food, but yet I like it. It’s a blend of Mexican, bbq, and Italian. I’d like to come back and try some of their other offerings!

Our first time there and we were impressed! My husband had a brisket dinner with fries and mac&cheese. I had a brisket taco and a pulled pork taco. Both our meals were absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu!
The only reason I didnt go 5 stars on atmosphere was because it was kind of loud for my husbands hearing aids. But it is a bar too so to be expected.
Update 11-5-25 We visited again, and brought our adult son. All of our meals were, again delicious! I tried a Mojito for the first time. Loved it! Definitely recommend Frieda’s

This place is great – we’re so excited to have this new option in town and are fast becoming regulars. It’s been awesome being able to come here to satisfy our frequent Mexican food cravings and meet up with friends for cocktails. From our first visit we have been treated like old friends by everyone in the joint – from the servers and bartenders; to the gregarious owner; to other patrons sitting up at the rail.
The atmosphere is festive and cozy, everything (including the restrooms) is clean, they have a full bar with a well-curated tequila selection, and best of all : the food is delicious and made with clean ingredients. In addition to the homemade chips with salsa, we’ve tried many of the menu items and have enjoyed all of them, especially the Cochinita Pibil (Yucatán-style braised pork) and the different Taco varieties.
Not sure if another reviewer confused Frida’s with another place or if a change was made, but we have never been charged a service fee for using credit cards. They have gift certificates available, which we discovered when we received one from our dear friends for Christmas 🙂 Welcome to the neighborhood, Frida’s – keep doing what you’re doing, we appreciate you and are happy to support this locally-owned business!

Out-friggen-standing food, drinks, pricing, staff and ambiance. We come back again and again. It’s hard to believe a little town like Bangor has such great cuisine, but it’s definitely worth the drive.

Hubby got the Crab Cake Bennys and I got the Grilled Salmon. Absolutely delicious!!! I sure hope Sunday brunch becomes a regular feature!

The steak fajitas were not brought on a sizzling plate. They had a red sauce on them with a strange taste. The rice was VERY garlicky.
The chips were good but they brought a very small amount In the basket for both of us. The salsa was in a small ramekin like dish. A refill was not offered.
The 3 enchiladas; 1 cheese – ok
1 ground beef – not so good with strange taste
1 chicken – ok
The enchiladas looked sooooooo good but not so much upon tasting.
There was a seasoning that we just didn’t like. My husband took 9ne bite of each & could not tolerate more. If he can’t eat it it’s bad because he eats everything. My rice also was way too garlicky.
No return trip and we left very disappointed because this is fairly close to home & we had high hopes it would be good.
