What an unexpected surprise the elegance but casualness of the place. The flatbread was good, the beet salad was even better.

The coconut curry was good and delicious but as a pescatarian foodie I expected more sauce and stronger curry flavor; however, the vegetables were absolute perfection – crisp and fresh not soggy and mushy – which was it’s key feature that really left me satisfied.

My fiance got the shrimp pasta. The oil broth base was fantastic and had a distinct shrimp flavor on its own.

We both had entrees with an expectation but gave us an unexpected satisfaction nonetheless.

We ordered the vanilla tarte. The compote was delicious and not overly sweet. The only thing we had wished for was more lime zest to have that with every bite not just as decoration but as part of the flavor.

Overall, an absolute gem for pescatarians, vegetarians, and vegans. I would recommend trying it out; we surely will be back!

We had a party of 16 and had a great time. Food came out quickly, despite our large group size. Everything was delicious and our server Elyse was so attentive! Would highly recommend. The drinks were especially delicious (I had two non-alcoholic cocktails).

The patio was also so cute, but only suitable for smaller parties. Would love to return to eat out there!

Lovely upscale vegan-forward restaurant with pescatarian options. I loved the way the menu was laid out with an easy numerical coding system to make you aware of the dietary components of each dish. Hubs had the “steak” bowl (gluten & soy protein) and he said it was fantastic. Gluten is not on my list but I did taste a shred and it was amazing. I had a large salad and salmon which was terrific. He also had the avocado chocolate mousse. I had a small taste and wow was it yummy.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was fantastic. Food was clean, healthy, and delicious. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is creative delicious and mostly fabulous plant based. It is named after Frida Kahlo and the next door Mexican bistro named after her lover Diego Rivera, with Bonita Bar in between named after their parrot. It’s located on a neighborhood corner in U City and I can’t say enough about what a great experience it is to go there. The decor is unique and clever, just like the food and if you are lucky Elyse will be there to wait on you. She is a gem. Enjoy! I promise!

This was the absolute worst dining experience I’ve ever had! The only thing they have going for them is the atmosphere. It was Valentine’s Day, but this was no excuse; when we arrived at 6pm there were only 5 tables sat and we waited 10 minutes for water and then another 15 minutes for the manager to ask what we wanted to drink.The bartender, having two bar backs who only kept washing glasses, she moved at a snails pace and so did the manager who was our server. He wore tinted glasses and seemed higher than a kite. Our meal now, disgusting! We knew it was vegan, again 30 minutes for our food and how long does it take for vegan? The lasagna came out pasty and cold and had lumps of cheese hard as a rock on top and one side of the pasta was burnt to a crisp! My black bean burger was repulsive, came out ice cold, 10 minutes to warm it up! It was a spinach burger with black bean crumbles on top. When we told the manager how bad it was, he just stared at the table for a very long awkward 10 seconds. I told him we expected it removed from our tab, we didn’t have to pay, only thing done right. This place is expensive! My martini tasted like olive juice, I couldnt tell it there was any alcohol. 2.25 hours and we only got served two drinks and terrible food. Even worse and uninviting service. Oh, and they had a limited menu and they still could serve it up.

I had the amazing opportunity to have lunch at Frida’s on Wednesday. Frida’s came highly recommended by Yah’ki, master herbalist. The food was absolutely amazing. I gather station burger with jalapeños. It felt and tasted like a burger which I hadn’t had since 2018. The atmosphere was very inviting, the host friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment is that I live so far away! I could literally eat there daily!!

Greeted by a friendly guy named Brando as we entered the restaurant. He has a love for baseball caps and was excited to talk about that when I complimented him on his hat. The service and hospitality provided by Elysa and Brando were hospitable, friendly and more . Elysa’s food and wine recommendations were spot on. The food is delicious and memorable. We had the angel hair pasta with shrimp and veggies, chicken sandwich, white bean soup. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back again soon.

Frida’s & Bonito Bar is a gem! The atmosphere is vibrant, stylish and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed lunch date. We ordered the Steak Bites appetizer, Diego’s Husband Margarita, Salmon Burger with Brussels sprouts, Bacon Turkey Burger with skinny fries and kale salad, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Our server Elyse T. absolutely made the experience. Full of personality and incredibly attentive, she walked us through the menu with enthusiasm and her suggestions were spot on. She turned a great meal into a truly memorable evening. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I brought our family here after our wedding. Elyse was kind and professional, and generously asked us what music station we’d like (we chose Frank Sinatra). The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. I definitely recommend Frida’s. The customer service, food and experience are wonderful.
