Had to come to Clovis today to try Frida’s, and the place is really beautiful inside. The vibe and décor are very well done, and the cashier was super friendly, which made the experience even better.

We decided to try 3 Adobada tacos and 1 Al Pastor taco, and honestly they were a solid 8/10. The meats were good, and I loved the guac salsa they put on the tacos—it added great flavor.

For the kids:
• Asada quesadilla with fries – my daughter liked it
• Chicken taco with beans and rice for our 1-year-old – the chicken was okay, not the greatest, but the beans and rice were fire

Drinks were also a highlight:
• Strawberry Lime ‍ – perfect flavor, very refreshing
• Banana drink – not our favorite
• Strawberry cream drink – really good

They also have a salsa bar, and all the salsas were good, which is always a plus.

Overall, a great experience with good food, friendly service, and solid drinks. Definitely worth checking out.

Our friends wanted to try this place out and asked for us to join them. It was all our first time and we were very satisfied. We all ordered tacos and agreed that the prices and portions were very good. Their aguas frescas were also very refreshing. I had the mango passion fruit, my husband the Jamaica, and our friends the strawberry. They even let you sample them if you’re unsure what to order. My three tacos were of cabeza, chicharrón and birria. So GOOD! The guacamole was delicious and they don’t skimp on it which is very generous. Their salsa’s are good which enhances the tacos. Watch out for the tomato one cuz it’s spicy! It’s a nice place to sit in and enjoy a good meal. It’s family oriented and we were happy with the customer service. We’ll be back and recommend it.

Left a bad review few months ago, had to give them a second chance. It’s now a solid 5, food was hot tortillas cooked. Good flavor. Didnt ser the flys this time and no staff just standing around gossiping. Old review is down below.

Coffee and coffee guy 10/10 very kind young man.
All the glass is dirty full of days of handprints. They don’t clean everyday. Or at all.
FLIES ON THE FOOD. 10 flies were in the food station one I saw was pregnant.
Guy took out trash behind the food. That glass door behind the food station was unbelievably DIRTY. And that patio full of trash boxes and bags and a guy went to toss trash back there in the pile instead of walking it to the trash cans. Left the door cracked open and that’s how flies were getting in.
Four five women look like mom with daughters all standing around instead of helping the process or for health sake cleaning.
The meat was room temp. So im scared I only ate it to not offend my date.
The potato taco I didn’t get ti eat at all it was COLD like if it was una fridge or away from heat too long.

For your health be careful. The dirty glass says it all and the trash with flies on food.

Not tj style because tj is cleaner.

Service was friendly and efficient — tacos were outstanding. Aesthetically pleasing restaurant / decor. Awesome that they’re open till 11pm since everything closes so early around here. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I ordered tacos. I had cabeza and she had assada, and we both picked fresco limon to drink. The tacos were small (street tacos) but they were very generous with the filling. The cabeza was a bit soupy, but good. The assada was on the dry side. They also had a nice selection of tasty salsas, however I could not find anythink with some heat; The Fresno chili they included was tasty, but same, no heat. The drinks were pretty good, refreshing and had chunks of fruit. Sorry, I didn’t take any photos.

Great job! The tacos were loaded to the brim the staff and the taco guy were super friendly. The tacos were $2 yesterday but I would have paid $4 gladly. The tacos weren’t all greasy. They had a ton of meat and delicious guac. The taco guy was super nice and helpful and so was the cashier. They even had a nice little salsa bar. I was skeptical to come in because of the bad reviews but I’ll be honest this place gets a 5 in my book. I live down the street so I’ll keep going for sure.

Can’t beat their $1.99 tacos all day on Tuesdays! Just like the street tacos I used to get when I lived down south. We tried their breakfast this morning and it was great. I wish we had ordered two different things but we both got breakfast burritos which were surprisingly full of eggs and not just potato filler. I really want to go back and try their crepes!

Disappointing Experience Despite the Hype

When you walk into Frida’s, the vibe is definitely modern Mexican—almost gives off a Saizon-lite feel, though not nearly as upscale. The ambiance sets some expectations, but unfortunately, the food and service didn’t meet them.

I went in on a Tuesday for their Taco Tuesday deal ($1.99 per taco). At the counter, I was helped by a young girl who mentioned she was part of the family. I asked her what made their tacos “Tijuana style,” and she simply replied, “That’s how they make them in Tijuana.” When I pressed for more detail, she couldn’t explain it at all….not exactly the most helpful interaction.

Ordering was a bit confusing. After paying, I had to walk over to a separate counter and tell the taco guy what I wanted. I noticed all the meats were already pre-cooked and sitting in warmers….not being cooked fresh to order, which was kind of a letdown. The guy preparing the tacos was pretty stingy with the cilantro and onions too. And the tacos themselves? Small.

I tried the asada, adobada, and birria. The asada had a bit of a smoky flavor, which was the only highlight. The adobada was tough, and the birria was pretty bland. The yellow corn tortillas had a nice texture, but they’re clearly store-bought. At full price, these tacos definitely wouldn’t be worth it. Don’t even get me started on the limes that were browning…clear sign they were old.

I was also surprised to find the restrooms already dirty by 9:45 in the morning….especially with barely any customers around. That’s not a great sign for how things are maintained.

I did try the banana agua fresca, which was actually pleasant…not overly sweet, and refreshing. But that alone isn’t enough to bring me back.

Bottom line: Frida’s feels more like style over substance. There’s not much authenticity here, and for what you get, it’s just not worth the hype. Save your money and head across the street to Taqueria Yareli’s. This unfortunately feels like another forgettable Mexican restaurant in Clovis destined to close its doors.

This was the first time visiting and I must say the tacos were delicious. The tortillas were fresh and moist and the asada was da bom ! My only comment would be blob of guacamole they add to the tacos was a little much ! Next time I’ll ask for it on the side . I lived that they asked if you wanted the grilled onions and or grilled pepper on the side and that for me was an absolute plus as I love that stuff . The staff was very friendly. It was a little confusing walking in and trying to figure out where the line would be . Also the tree decor is a little much as it coves up the menus while you wait other than that it very nice inside and lots of Fresca’s to choose from . I did note one more things that they have a very large breakfast menus but the lunch menus is kinda small and hidden. Would I come back yes , I’m looking forward to trying the chilaquiles on my next visit .
