This place had fresh Mexican food. I loved that I could have a salad instead of rice and beans. Very large menu, almost overwhelmingly large. Great margaritas. My main complaint is it took a long time to get everything. Even water took a while. The food seemed to take forever. But it all tasted great!! Just don’t expect a quick experience.

They’re not kidding about their Mexican food being authentic. Soooooo good that I want to come back here from North of Denver just to have good Mexican food. My husband and I shared the shrimp ceviche tostadas, chile relleno, enchilada, rice and beans. I also got an horchata and my husband got the Luna colada. Every single thing had great flavor. I asked where the owners were from because this is my fav style of Mexican food; they are from Michoacán. Aside from all that goodness, the atmosphere was also very cute! Well done.

My family and I had such an amazing experience here at Frida! The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was such a vibe and Danna our server was so nice and hospitable. Her recommendations for our entrees were spot on. We left feeling happy and our hearts were full. Thank you for such a great experience!!

We had a burrito and a chicken chimichanga. Both were good. We had the sopapillas for desert, and they were not good at all. The noise in this tiny little space is extremely loud. The service was subpar at best. We couldn’t get water refills, and the waitress wouldn’t stop talking with someone long enough to get our ticket to us.

I stopped in with a hankering for some decent enchiladas.

The shrimp enchiladas hit the spot and then some. Great flavor, texture exceeded expectations and portion size left little to be desired.

The cheese dip appetizer has a rich deep flavor, but doesn’t quite match my need for caliente. No points lost- still tasted great.

Server was attentive but not pestering. 5 stars. Will come back next time I am passing through.

So… I love authentic Mexican food and while visiting a friend in Glenwood Springs we wanted to go out to eat… So we decided on Mexican and he brought me to Frida’s. This is a newly opened restaurant and is on the upper floor. Ok let’s get into it!

The good: Hey I think the place is very clean and has a neat vibe going. Everything looks new and it has a great layout. Most of the staff is friendly and did a great job greeting us as we walked in. We didn’t have to wait long. It was busy but we were seated quickly. The food wasn’t bad but not what I am used to. I ordered my favorite the chicken mole enchiladas, however it’s not on the menu but they are able to do it. When I asked I was told there would be a nine dollar upcharge? Even with this shock I would say the portion size is about the same as other local authentic Mexican restaurants I have frequented for years. With that let’s move onto the bad…

The bad: Can you say expensive? Items I saw on the menu started at $20. Things like chicken mole enchiladas mentioned above.. were not available but chicken en mole is. My shock was that they wanted to charge more for the enchiladas version over just the chicken en mole. Usually it’s the other way round. Everything was more than my other local favorite authentic Mexican restaurants in town. I guess it’s because they are new or closer to Aspen? I don’t know. The meal I had was quite salty which was odd because everywhere else I get mole it’s sweet. The server we had was average but did forget to bring salsa and chips… Which I was deathly afraid they were going to charge us for.. I suspected it might be $10. Even though it was salty it was good. My biggest complaint really is the absurd pricing. I just don’t have the Aspen money I guess.

Parking out front is shared with the hotel and the business downstairs which I forget what it is… So it’s tight. Also I did not see any kind of wheelchair accessibility unless they have a secret back door for that.

Personally I would only recommend this if you have to and don’t want to get caught in Glenwood traffic heading downtown on a Friday night. U can wait it out here but bring your bankroll.

My friend had a margarita and had no complaints. I guess we will see what happens here.. but I’ll almost definitely won’t go back here. I’d much rather get the same for less downtown… You know.. by the Village Inn. There are two great options for realistic prices.

I will say… When the bill came they did not apparently charge the nine dollar upcharge for the mole enchiladas. Just saying.

I must say it was an incredible experience! The food here is undeniably the best Mexican cuisine I have ever tasted. Each and every dish are incredible with flavors. Though slightly pricey, every penny spent is absolutely worth it. The chicken flautas are perfectly crispy in texture and the accompanying spicy sauce took it to another level. The chicken fajitas were also outstanding. In fact, every dish on the menu is a standout. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Everything was really delicious, from the salsa, the house margarita to the flautas, tamales and the pork green Chile! It’s a smaller restaurant and parking is limited- definitely recommend calling ahead for large groups – the restaurant atmosphere was very nice- loved the balconies built in with metal sculptures of mariachi musicians- great use of empty space to make you feel like you’re actually visiting Mexico!

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Visiting from Northern CO and I’m so glad we landed on Frida for dinner. Margarita was good, but the food was top notch. Some of the most flavorful fajitas I’ve had. Full of flavor, perfect spice level and plenty of it. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This place is one of the rarest spots I found for AUTHENTIC Mexican food. I’m sooooooo picky. First impression walking was I thought it was pretty and it looked clean. Staff smiled and seated my party of 13 right away. I always judge a restaurant their chips and salsa because wity experience, it tells me what kind of food and effort the food will taste. The chips and salsa was really good so I was looking at the menu and was impressed with the options. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu because everyone in my party raved how good everything was. The rice was soooo fluffy and flavorful and beans were smooth and good.. staff was so accommodating and friendly. Another pretty young female waitress from another table was soooo sweet to little son, she made him feel really special. I will definitely be Back when I come again to Glenwood Springs and be recommending it to friends and family.
