Friday lunch
Waitress Kimberly is awesome.
Food is so good and so much!
Had the Lobster Roll, flight of beer and individual pours, Baguette Bahn Mi, Hamburger, Pork Pie, Chowder, flight of beer – loved it all !! Fresh food ! Ordered a loaf of bread to go.
Everything was absolutely delicious. Be prepared to come and spend several hours. All of the food is made by hand, “from the ground up”. You can’t rush perfection.
Nothing is small.

The attention to detail and the passion for creating exceptional seafood dishes were evident in every bite. The lobster roll itself was toasted to perfection, providing a nice crunch that complemented the softness of the lobster. The seafood chowder was equally exceptional. It was rich, creamy, and packed with an abundance of fresh seafood.
DO NOT BE DETERRED BY THE ATMOSPHERE. What this place lacks in welcoming staff and atmosphere it 100% redeems itself with the food and beer.
I was immediately turned off by this place due to the decorations, religious themes and staff. However after a few min of settling in and understanding the waitresses humor, I warmed up quite a bit. I ordered the seafood chowder and my boyfriend got the lobster roll. Holy monastery were these both incredible. Brother don greeted us and chatted pleasantly as we finished our meal. We are really touched by the homeyness and charm that we left after enjoying this place for an early lunch. Definitely a highlight and DO go out of your way to enjoy this food. Obey the rules and don’t make any substitutes to your order. They know what’s best for you.
That said, welcome to The Friar Brewhouse, a Mainstreet Americana style diner that is slightly unhinged from level parallels to make it more interesting but not enough to distress.
The staff is personal, with great character that is movie worthy, and complementary to the setting. Food choices may seem a bit bland in writing but, I assure you, are nothing but the best possible example of each.
I, for one, do not like to order pasta dishes, especially not Mac and Cheese, because I believe them to be of poor value for my money.
Well, I was here with my boys, gave in to Mac and Cheese, and loved every bite of it.
We also had a burger that disappeared before I could take a picture for a good reason and a sandwich that was also surprisingly delicious.
I will, 100%, come back for seconds.
The portions were incredibly large. We will definitely go again as there are so many items on the menu we’d like to try.
