We finally tried Friaco’s last weekend and wow – it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect: lively but not overwhelming, with great music and atmosphere.
The fresh chips and salsa came out immediately and that salsa is seriously addictive – you can tell it’s made fresh daily, just the right amount of kick.
For mains, the steak tacos were perfectly seasoned with tons of flavor, and the carnitas were crispy on the outside, tender inside – exactly what you want. My partner got the fajitas and they sizzled beautifully at the table with generous portions of steak, peppers, and onions. Everything came with excellent rice and beans.
And the margaritas? Fire – strong, not too sweet, and they have a great selection of tequilas if you’re into that. Our server was super friendly and quick, even on a busy Saturday night.
Portions are solid, prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the whole experience just felt authentic and welcoming. Family recipes really shine through here.
We’ll definitely be back – probably way too often! Highly recommend Friaco’s if you’re craving real, delicious Mexican food in the area.

Popped in for lunch on Valentines day for something quick with my husband. The restaurant was decorated nice with flowers and pillows on the bench seating and had heart streamers on ceiling. Waitstaff and hostess very friendly. Used to dine when they were located closer to the fox valley mall and this was first time at the new location. Food is the same hot and fresh. Nice sized portions, and prices seemed fair and reasonable. I enjoyed the margarita flight, husband has a few domestic beers, and we shared the chicken fajitas for 2. The chicken and vegyables came sizzling hot out from kitchen with pouches for the tortillas to keep them warm. Complimentary fresh chips and salsa brought out as soon as we were seated. Definitely will be back!

I made a reservation one month in advance at Ed V’s for a party of 18 to celebrate my daughter and her boyfriend’s birthdays. I even called one week before and again the day before to confirm. However, when we arrived, they said they didn’t have our reservation. The manager initially suggested I had called the wrong location, but after checking more carefully, she apologized and admitted it had been overlooked.
They eventually made space for us, but we had to wait about 20 minutes, and our party was not able to sit together, which was disappointing for such a special celebration. The service was also lacking, as our waitress did not check on us regularly and drinks were left empty for long periods.
Overall, the experience was okay, but it was frustrating and disappointing given the effort I made to plan and confirm everything in advance.

The whole experience was wonderful. By the time I thought about taking a picture of my Quesabirria plate, it was all gone. This is my husband plate. We will definitely be going back.

We went on Cinco de Mayo, it was hopping. Everything was delicious and great service. It was busy, but they got us seated reasonably quickly. I highly recommend it

Friday night visit. Got seated on the patio which is heated right away. Took a little while for server to come find us, ordered 2 alcoholic drinks. Warm chips and salsa were provided but chips were too greasy, and needed salt which wasn’t on the table. Steak quesadilla is good, but not enough meat for $17. Chorizo taco was mushy and too salty. Steak taco had good flavor. $71 total bill for 2 with 2 drinks. Probably won’t be back but it’s not bad overall.

Omg some of the best food and they definitely deserve like a million stars . Best mexican food i have had in a long time. The Margarita fight definitely a hit. Me and my husband shared it but they definitely don’t skimp on the tequila .food was quick and very good

We went here for date night. I think there was confusion about who had our table, so when we ordered our drinks and they gave us 2 free shots. We ordered beer and a margarita flight. All were good. I had the chicken chimichanga, and my husband had Don Ramon carne asada. Everything was delicious. The food came fast, and our waitress was attentive. Everyone was friendly. We will definitely visit again.
