Great flavors and presentation, quality ingredients, and great care were put into our choices.
We even had the mixologist concoct a signature cocktail from scratch and it was unbelievable. A black raspberry lemon drop, I think it was…
Prices were high, but you really don’t mind it a bit when your dining experience is this great.
The skirt steak was great and the chocolate molten cake was bad ace! I this both the tuna and brussel sprout appetizers were great choices and I’d definitely order them again.
What a great dining experience!
Highly recommend!
While the accompaniments that came with the dish didn’t exactly match what was listed on the menu, everything that was served still worked well together and tasted fantastic. The plating was attractive, and the flavors complemented the pork nicely, even if they weren’t what I expected. Sometimes surprises work out, and in this case, they definitely did.
The atmosphere at Fresko was modern and stylish, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, it was a great spot for a relaxed, high-quality meal in the heart of Des Moines. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!
My wife ordered the butternut squash salad and I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon.
Both dishes were spectacular and accompanied by a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc suggested by our waitress.
The food was exquisite in and of itself, but what made it an extra special evening was our waitress. (Elizabeth-Betsy). She made the night complete. She was very engaging, helpful & pleasant. Made us feel right at home.
Coffee and desserts completed the evening.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is upscale but still cozy, with ambient lighting & modern design. I recommend the green velvet corner booth, if it’s available. The staff were super friendly and attentive.
We ordered a lot of food, so here’s our quick rating breakdown:
-crab cakes 10/10
-sensei sushi roll 10/10
-crunchy dragon roll 10/10
-vegan sushi roll 5/10 (needed v spicy mayo & was falling apart
-golden dragon street noodle 9/10 (it was a bit more curry tasting than I prefer but still delicious)
Loved seeing vegan options on the menu, I hope they expand these options so I can try new things when I come back. The espresso martini was excellent! They have soy milk, & mocktails!
Definitely recommend for a romantic date night, a special occasion, or just grabbing cocktails & apps with the girls!
I ordered the wood-fired wings and expected some char; however, what I received were wings that were burnt to the point of being inedible. It was disappointing that these were boxed up and sent out as-is.
I did call the restaurant to ask about speaking with a manager regarding a possible refire or refund, but after being placed on hold for nearly 10 minutes, I wasn’t able to reach anyone.
Overall, it was a disappointing meal and experience, which was especially frustrating as I am celiac and the restaurant came highly recommended. I had hoped for a better first experience.
