For over $20 you would think a sandwich from here would fill your stomach and fulfill your dreams. But unfortunately I found myself severely disappointed. The avocado griller sounds fantastic in theory — yet unfortunately I was rewarded with very little avocado actually present.
For around $24 I received 3 thin slices of measly avocado on a field of onion. Perhaps a name change to the “onion griller” should be in order?
I understand managing costs in an expensive town such as this, and that avocado would have to be the most expensive part of this menu item — and therefore we may try to skirt corners where we can. However, considering you can get an avocado for around $1 I think I could’ve been provided with at least a few more slices.

I called and spoke to a manager. Julie was lovely. I received a full refund. The customer service more than made up for the lack of avocado.

Stopped in to try this place out because our massage therapist recommended the cinnamon rolls and they did NOT disappoint! Most delicious cinnamon roll we’ve ever had and the grilled chicken tacos were delicious as well!

Don’t waste your time at this restaurant, there are plenty of other breakfast places in steamboat! The food was decent, but extremely pricey. We started off with the cinnamon roll which was the best part.
We also waited an hour for our food and other tables that were seated around us got their food way before us. I had to ask a server who was not ours to get us coffee refills while we waited.

Went and had breakfast, and the food was just average. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it wasn’t great either. The service was fantastic though! I enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s a cute little place!

Great restaurant with fun decor around! Atmosphere and service was great. I came alone and was able to be quickly seated at the bar for brunch. I got the breakfast burrito and it was amazing! Super filling and fresh. Highly recommend!

Fantastic brunch spot! I’ve been craving some GOOD French toast and been disappointed at several places, BUT NOT HERE! It was absolutely incredible! My husband ordered huevos rancheros, and said it was the best he’d ever had anywhere! Super friendly staff! Of course, it’s a bit of a wait, but as you get that anywhere nowadays, this wait was definitely worth it!!

I’ve been to Freshies many times over the years. It’s just a little bit further away than other hot brunch spots in town. It is always busy and has never seemed worthwhile to me to wait, but my family loves it here. Known for gigantic cinnamon rolls, green chili grits and killer chai, that’s where the rationalization for the price tag stops. Their ‘healthy alternatives’ are limited & the bowls are really just granola with a sprinkle of other ingredients. Portions are good, but you get up-charged for everything. Breakfast burritos are about $25. A simple turkey sandwich served with chips was $22. Expect to wait 35-45 for food to hit the table and don’t expect a server to stop by for anything besides to take your full order in one go & then drop your bill at the end. Breakfast is served until 11 but they stop whenever they feel like it. You can do a lot better in Steamboat than this.

We’ve been trying to eat here for several years but the wait for a table was always too long. Today we lucked out and the wait was only 15 mins. The food was great, and waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. This is a really nice place to come with large family groups, especially if you want to avoid the chaos of downtown Steamboat. I got the croissant breakfast sandwich, and it was delicious. I would highly recommend Freshies.
